Donald Trump took a break Sunday night from his busy schedule of tweeting about canceling meetings with the Taliban
to tweet about John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.
In the process of patting himself on the back for signing a criminal justice reform law, Trump claimed that
“But now that it is passed,
people that had virtually nothing to do with it are taking the praise.
Guys like boring musician @johnlegend,
and his filthy mouthed wife,
are talking now about how great it is -
but I didn’t see them around when we needed help getting it passed.”
he should probably look around a little more—Legend is a long-time criminal justice reform advocate.
“Imagine being president of a whole country and spending your Sunday night hate-watching MSNBC hoping somebody--ANYBODY--will praise you.
Melania, please praise this man. He needs you,” Legend tweeted.
“Your country needs you, Melania.”
He went on to retweet the heavily memed picture of Melania Trump and Justin Trudeau,
saying “Ah yes, Melania is otherwise occupied. My apologies, @realDonaldTrump.”

A new poll shows voters aren’t buying what Trump is selling

Trump is an isolationist at heart, but the survey shows
the American public is becoming more, not less, supportive of foreign engagement.
Sixty-nine percent of those surveyed think that the United States should take “an active part in world affairs.”
One of the only times in the past 45 years that support for international engagement has been higher was in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.
Trump views NATO as a rip-off, yet 73 percent of the public thinks NATO is essential to U.S. security — up from 65 percent when Trump was elected.
The percentage of Americans who think that international trade is good for the U.S. economy has risen to an astonishing 87 percent —
a whopping increase of 28 points since Trump was elected.
For all of Trump’s vilification of U.S. trade partners,
overwhelming majorities favor trade with Germany (87 percent),
Japan (87 percent) and
Mexico (83 percent).
Seventy-four percent even support trade with China, despite — or because of — Trump’s trade war.
