He'd be a nice replacement for Marco.
Drink some milk..
He'd be a nice replacement for Marco.
This video really seems to imply that Forbes will continue to start... .
Not at all surprising since Pop likes continuity and will be cautious with integrating Murray back into the rotation. Murray or white will be playing off the bench, imo.
As long as Forbes and Mills stop playing together. I am fine with him starting. Against duo guards like Blazers, it will be tough though.
Over reacting per par.......
If it's White off the bench, then Pop can't afford to be cautious in integrating Murray into the rotation. If he's ready to go, then let him lead the way but starting Forbes alongside him will only put more pressure on Murray to carry the load defensively. White isn't a natural SG and a role as a poor man's Manu off the bench may be the best use of him but I'd much rather have him start at the 2 with Murray, tbh.
He's G-League fodder, tbh. Marco is limited and declining but still above a G-Leaguer who went undrafted. , ing Bonner, who you all know I love to hate, could come out of retirement and I'd rather have him on an NBA roster than Orale Hommes.
he didn’t want to stay in San Antonio. He is Californian. Not matter how hard SA would have tried, he would have left to go back to Cali. People don’t want to understand that SA is a boring city and a small market
This team has a lot of upside. Not just with White and Murray, but I expect Walker to be a scoring punch off the bench, Poeltl to make some strides, DeRozan shooting 3s and Carroll to be a solid contributor. Corporate knowledge should give the Spurs a strong start and the young boys should improve as the season progresses
I'm saying Pop starts the season with his lineup from last year: Poeltl, Aldridge, Derozan, Forbes, White. Now if Murray doesn't miss a beat at all, then I can see him starting at some point, but not at game 1 of the season. You're right though that he or White will have to carry the defense in the starting lineup if one of them comes off the bench since Demar and Forbes are not good defenders so in that scenario, I can see both guys start. The team wasn't a disaster with Forbes starting last year, so I think Pop lets him start at first and eventually do lineup shifts like he always does.
Do the Spurs have a backup big to replace LMA or Poeltl when hey have a breather if you start Poeltl?
Trey Lyles guaranteed will be the most hated spur this year.
Drew Eubanks and Metu.
Forbes made the roster as a camp invite. Jimmer had like 500K guaranteed, and was cut for Bryn. I’d consider Metu’s spot to be precarious at best. He’s been meh Austin, and terrible in SA.
Only Eubanks is a banger down low Metu and other guys are to skinny or short to play Center. The best hope would be for us to bring over Nikola this year but it won’t happen unfortunately.
Jimmer got cut for Rasual. Bryn was the favorite to get the spot when he was a rookie. His whole first year was guaranteed. You greater point stands though.
And what teams do we need this bruising banger for?
Wow... flashbacks. I remember Rasual Butler wasn't even given some form of contract initially, he was just training in open gym with the guys and stayed to eventually make the team (RIP)... Says a lot about Jimmer simply not cutting it (specially considering the team went on to eventually cut Rasual from the team later that same season).
But yea, definitely there are guys who can ax themselves. Metu having gotten injured over the summer sucks for him so much. If he needed additional coaching, development opportunities and some experience that was the perfect platform.
does anybody know when the Jerseys will be announced? I'm still hoping they trade the camo uni's for a Fiesta jersey
Umm you didn’t watch last year loss to Denver?
LMA looks like he's in good shape, good to see
? In his video, he said his first two years were unguaranteed.
I think it might have just been partially guaranteed, like $250k or something. He got more than Arcidiacono did though. He wasn't a walk on and didn't compete with Jimmer for a spot. Jimmer was the year before when the Spurs eventually went with Andre Miller and (shudders) Kevin Martin.
It's possible that Bryn's first season was also the year SA cut LJC despite him having two guaranteed years.
