MJ traveled like crazy, no calls
Same thing on defense, he was allowed to grab, hold arms, karate kick his opponents
MJ and the Bulls got freebies too, time to drop your nostalgia glasses
LeBron has all that quickness and ball-handling ability, in a linebacker's body. But he gets credit for what he could have been. Jordan was an assasin.
LeBron fits the narrative of the "new NBA". Having a King around is a money maker, and they are going t have one even if they have to invent him.

Clyde Frazier is probably the most underrated player of all time, but he's still relatively unknown. In his peak years, he was arguably the best back court defender in the league while putting up 20+/6+/6+. He probably would've led the league in steals multiple seasons, but he played before that stat was kept. His 36 pt, 19 assist, 7 rebound, 6 steal performance in Game 7 against the Lakers in the 1970 finals (while defending & outplaying Jerry West) is one of the greatest ever, and gave the Knicks a championship despite their star center Willis Reed barely being able to play due to injury.
MJ traveled like crazy? GTFO. The guy had impeccable footwork and his moves were clean. I agree that he likely got a favorable whistle compared to other guys, and that he played defense illegally, but so did Tim (hand on the offensive player's waist so that you can guide his momentum).
Palming, carrying, traveling, he did it all
But by your logic, MJ couldn’t have played in the 60s as the rules were very strict when it came to dribbling
Cousy >>>> Jordan
Says the guy who still has fantasies of having babies with the 87 Lakers. That's not nostalgia or anything - you're just the keeper of Ultimate Truth.
I have to take a little longer view of things. I'm nostalgic for thePeloponnesian War. I still have a little soft spot for the Crusades, and I'll even drink an occasional beer to the Salem witch trials. But being nostalgic about something from 25 years sort of makes me laugh.
BTW - everyone travels. And they travel about the same amount, depending on how the game is being called. When Jordan played, the refs would still call it - today they won't. Most of the new superstars need to be able to carry the ball for their game to work. Jordan would be even more effective with the ability to cradle the ball while he made his moves. Guys like Steph would be much less effective without it.
No... Jordan didn't travel any more than anyone else in that era. Steph doesn't carry the ball any more than anyone else today - he's just better at taking advantage of the current way the game is called, compared to most of the other guys. I don't know what would happen with Jordan playing by today's rules (I'm speaking ex-Olympia here, not as a deity). But take away the ability to create space with moving screens, and the ability to cradle the ball to make those crazy moves, and Jordan would school the Dubs. And like I said above, allow the physical play of that era and the Stockton/Malone Jazz would completely blow up GSW's game.
- MJ didn’t travel more than any other player in his era, but he got called for it a lot less than anybody else back then
- Steph has excellent handles; sure he travels when doing the Euro step, but who doesn’t ?
- Enough with the physicality.... they called a lot of soft fouls back then too... and it’s harder to defend today because you’re not allowed to hack your opponent so you have to rely on better footwork, movement , positioning, etc etc
Yesterday’s enforcers had jobs in the NBA because they had ty defense so they had to resort to hard fouls in mid air
My Theory is he played in the same conference and era as Jordan.. And if he played with David and Tim, odds are fairly good he'd have a ring or two..
During his prime playing at an MVP level he had 4 seasons with his best shot to win a ring..
92 record was 51-31 Lost in 2nd round to Bulls in 7 games..
93 was a 60 win season. Outplayed Bulls in Reg season had HC and were up 2-0 in ECF. Dropped 4 straight. Charles Smith in game 5 really choked.
94 No Jordan. 57 wins lost in 7 games in the finals to Rockets. Hakeem is better all time and outplayed Ewing. Still were maybe a Starks 3 away from winning in game 6..
95 55-27 lost in 7 games to Pacers, in the 2nd round, this was the missed layup game 7 for Ewing..
By 96 the age was showing and the team was in transition.
But he led the Knicks in a stacked east. And he got close. Bulls/Knicks/Pacers all great teams in the East at that time. Then came the Magic by 95.. Not like the turds Lebron played in the East..

The refs gave game 5 to the Bulls in 93
And I’m not even talking about the Charles Smith play
And the East wasn’t that stacked lol
Knicks during the 1st 3peat :Ewing + grocery bagger and scrubs
Cavs : Uncle Joey was guarding Jordan
Pacers : they were a contender after the Bulls 1st three peat
97 Knicks would have beaten Chicago in 97 if not for the suspensions against Miami. They were playing the best basketball during the 97 playoffs
So this was a good idea. They created a page to let people vote on that Top 50 article. I don't care about voting, but it was interesting to see which players most people thought were underrated and overrated. But mostly it proves that those kinds of lists wouldn't be a damn bit better if they let fans vote.

LOL. You're like a ing mosquito droning around my head at night. How about backing that up with something besides your nostalgic memory? I would suggest just STFU with making stuff up, but I know that's not going to happen. So enjoy the thread.
YouTube exists
Duncan > Magic, Bird, Shaq, and Lebron, tbh
Kobe >>>> Duncan
Lefty needs a hit on his troll line.. someone get pissed off.
Come on Lefty, you're fishing in the kiddie pond with a snoopy reel. Join the adults son.![]()
Nah Tim was better of course
But I don’t hate Kobe as much as a lot of Spurs fan do
Kobe will get all of the attention at the HOF induction ceremony though. Kobe, Garnett and Duncan...that will be a pretty amazing class of inductees, and with the two attention s hogging the limelight Duncan likely won't get his proper due.
I’m sure Tim will be fine with that, he’s not an attention seeker anyway
If KG talks like he does on his show, it’s gonna be hard to listen to
Lebron cant even make the playoffs in the West.![]()
It will be like when David was be inducted at the same time as MJ.
MJ : « You’re all beneath me!”
Stock and David : “thank you”
