Samanic still needs more strength. I think thats why hes not getting any playing time. So he doesnt develop bad habits with his poor strength. He needs to get tougher. The way he forces it in 2 ft from the basket with defenders on him looks awkward as .

Keldon just needs to get sharper. The game is there. He is relentless in a Dejounte Murray type way where he just keeps chipping.

Eubanks looked bad. Im surprised Metu outplayed him. Metu actually looks good if he works on his 3 pt shot.

Dejounte is a beast. He is legitimately going to be our 3rd star.

It was an off game for White, he def will bounce back. I dont think his game meshes well with Lonnie. Lonnie doesnt provide great space and is a ball stopper. Lonnie is better suited in lineups where its iso iso iso...meaning the starting line up. White excels in team ball.

    A SL of

    Dejounte
    Lonnie
    DeMar
    Aldridge
    Jakob

    With a bench of

    White
    Forbes
    Carroll
    Gay
    Eubanks or Metu

Is what I expect by the end of the season heading into the playoffs

One guy averages 15/3/3 in the playoffs yet is being written off. Another guy puts up 11/4/4 in one preseason game and is a beast/future star.

Youd have to have seen the game to see Dejounte's ability. Im not even writing off Derrick...i chose to get his jersey over Dejountes and actually own one. Im one of his biggest fans. I think for this team, the bench suits him a la Manu. I even think hes going to be a star too. I think your insecurity is mouthing off here.

White and Murray are both going to be good-to-great players. Murray obviously didn't get a fair shot to play last season due to injury, and that gave White an opportunity to showcase his skills.

That said, Dejounte definitely seems to be the more vocal and demonstrative player, whereas Derrick seems very content to just try to fit in...and it shows in their play. Guys aren't going to follow a guy without a voice.

They can both succeed in the Spurs system without spiting each other, because they both have very different skillsets and personalities. I don't understand why you want to make this a pissing contest.

Murray looked good. Handles are tighter & aren't as high, finished well, shot looks better. Could be an awesome starting backcourt for a decade.

It’s not just FkLA though. Way too many BS posts on this forum with the White vs Murray nonsense. I rather both just excel at their skill set so we’re not relying on overplaying Patty for another season.

White does lack confidence. He doesn't fully know how good he is yet, he's used to being overlooked his whole life. You know what's bull and pisses me off though? The fact that no one seems to want to help the kid's confidence. Where's his "forget the Big 3, be the Big 1" talk? Instead he gets benched in a Game 7 for an inferior player and demoted the next season by his coach. NBA fans? Act like he's a scrub. Spurs fans? Yeah he's good but he's not DJ, he can come off the bench. The refs treated him like a scrub. The media robbed him of an all-defense selection.

BTW having irrational confidence doesn't make you a leader. It's not like IB is that confident because he's led the team to anything. He's just a naturally y guy.

Dejounte shot looks like a real nba shot now...

Very aggressive attacking the paint and made some good passes on the baseline...

Interested to see how it works when him DD and White play together since all 3 are at their best with the ball in their hands and all 3 have no history as catch and shoot shooters...

For White, it's his 2nd real year in the league...and he managed to make the USA National Team. If that's not a shot in the arm, I don't know what is.

As for last year's playoffs, Derrick started off hot but once the defense keyed in on him...he disappeared. We can debate until the cows come home whether that was the right decision, but my opinion is that he got passive the last couple games and kinda deserved the hook. (And yes, Mills wasn't a great alternative, but there are only so many players on the bench)

As for DJ, he has a lot to prove and he has talked a lot of talk. He has to prove that he can walk the walk...but he also deserves that chance.

BTW Murray only played 14 minutes (all in the first half), and 7 of his 11 points came on jump shots including one from deep. So maybe that jumper will start working for him.

Yall act like we didn't have Tony vs Manu for 15 years. It is what it is.

If that the going narrative over the next few seasons, it's probably a good thing. We also have Lonnie and Bryn as well. All of which are confirmed to be 12-15ppg scorers at their low ends.

We should be able to attack from the 1 and 2 guard spots at all times. It could be nuts.

Another one here hating the stupid debate Murray vs White. The Manu fandom vs Tony fandom was an absolute waste of enjoyment time. Then and now, same story: Both very good players, still young but with a great potential. We're lucky to have them in our team and we need them both.

Dejounte looked much more like a pg than White yesterday. White needs to be a knockdown shooter. That's where his bread and butter will be so he can take advantage of guys playing up on him and closing out on him. Good play maker, weak pg skills imo.

Didn't get to catch the game. How did Walker look? Tim gave him an okayish grade, but I thought it would be really intriguing to see how many assists he got. That was part of his game that I think most here didn't think would really show up for another couple years.
