do we have cap room to sign him outright? if we have to ship out DDR to get it done, may as well acquire him in the same deal. that may necessitate giving up a pick, but im ok with that
if DeFrozan opts out yes. Or if we move Mills and waive Lyles. A trade is cool but I wouldn't give up any picks for an expiring

Or for a player who’s played 551 games in 12 seasons. He’s the poster child for NBA China dolls.

Danilo is way too injury prone to replace DeMar with.

Yeah, I'm down with moving Mills and Beli (and a first) to get Gallo. He completes the SL, and giving up the pick is more palatable when it also sheds Mills' money. I'm not okay with a DeRozan/Gallo swap in any fashion, certainly not in one where the Spurs give up DMDR AND a pick.

Sekou, unloading DDR, and getting Galo- who got a lot of all star consideration and fits better with the Spurs than DeRozan does for first. It's a no-brainer to add a first IMO.
Reasonable minds can differ; I just don’t value Gallo on an expiring Deal the same way. So, shipping DDR for essentially Seku and a rental (a nice one maybe) seems a little thin to me.

Have we had a breakthrough? Has Demar FINALLY figured out that attacking the basket is the intelligent way to shoot 2-pointers?

Having DJ to facilitate, and allow DD to just score will make a huge difference in his scoring choices.

No. Because he hit a lot of two point jumpers too. DD does this and he did it last year. He will have games where he is on attacking the basket and looking like he is a legit #2. then he has games where he is passive and disinterested and he doesnt get a call at the rim and he gets in his feelings and he doesnt drive. i'll believe it when i see it for a few months tbh

There's no reason for OKC to move Galo for two expiring, last season he was viewed as a potential all-star selection. If the asking price is a first for him, then that is a price a team is probably willing to pay for him. That team would also have his bird rights and be in pretty good position to re-sign him. Getting Sekou in that hypothetical would probably be enough to off set the loss of a 1st rounder.

I'd love that but Patty is literally, and without hyperbole, the safest guy on the roster. Pop would never ever trade his ass, he's safer than Dejounte tbh

ideal scenario, but PATFO will never trade Patty

I agree that OKC would need to be incentivized with a first. I just think DET should be the ones to pay it (not SAS). They’re getting the best player in the package, and the risk of Gallo walking is significant. Dude wants to go somewhere he can win now; Spurs are rebuilding and if they’re trading DDR they sure as aren’t overplaying for Gallo (years, $$, or both).

It's not like the teams that will have significant cap space will sign Galo considering that all are non playoff teams and are rebuilding themselves. Don't think a team would have to overpay to keep him.

The Spurs would be getting the best haul of the three teams imo and Detroit may be unwilling to give up the 15th pick in this past draft plus another for DDR.

I was gonna say some really nice things about DeMar after this game, especially about his 3rd quarter performance. Then he comes out and totally shuts the bed the last 5 minutes of the game.

Gotta be better in the clutch, DeMar..

Two missed FTs and airballed another key jumper. Jesus christ, please don't let his regular season BS fool the team into extending him.

He is the exact opposite of Timmy, Manu, and Parker. When DDR does make a shot in the clutch, its more lucky than good. Todays game is more like how he usually is.

I was hoping he'd hit those ft's so other teams might be snookered into accepting him in a trade.

Gallo is definitely my target in the upcoming offseason. But no need to give up any assets when he's an expiring anyway
Counting that he signs is without trading for his is risky ask

Spurs can win a lot of regular season games with him but like always he's not somebody they can rely on in the playoffs.

I know man, how does a guard shoot 15.6% from the three point line in 2019?
