the Mavs really looked like they had total control over the blazers but the guests came back ... hope those legs are a little more tired and Lillards 35 footers are a little short
I predict we will be up 10-12 pts and it looks like we are on the verge of pulling away and then our fabulous duo will keep the blazers in it.
I hate seeing Murray being restricted but I understand it. I want to see him finishing in close games, thats what bugs me the most. But hopefully we can still get the W.

great breakdown how we closed out the last game. Obviously no foul by White and Murray
Guests by 10 imo.
Spurs by 20+ tbh
and it would be interesting to see if pop deviates from his current rotation and allows dejounte and white to share to floor a bit to see how they can stack up on both ends against dame/mccollum
This actually makes a fair bit of sense. Don't necessarily agree with Pop's reasoning if this is what's happening, but it's a half-decent explanation at least.
wow Rui was wide open there at the end. I’m glad Beal didn’t see him. Not sure who messed up on the switch but based on the past and how typically pop likes to switch everything at the end, I would say DWhite should’ve switched on to Rui but instead stayed with Bertans.
great video
Video claims DeRozan blew the switch, but White was the guy on Bertans before the play. Derrick thus should have gone to Hach on the switch and not stayed with Bertans. Either DeRozan switched when he wasn't supposed to (unlikely given the situation) or White blew the switch. Blaming that on DeMar is biased at best and horrible basketball knowledge at worst.
True. White was basically able to avoid the screen but if the Spurs were switching all screens, White should have been the one to switch and DeRozan made the right play. The switchable lineup on the court means it's very likely they were told to switch all screens.
Pop's mind's eye when the Spurs open up a disrespectfully large lead in the second quarter:
![]()
here's how this will go:
Spurs come out fresh and get a little lead. Then Pop subs in Mills for Forbes and McCollum gets hot. Pop then subs in Belinelli for DeRozan and Rodney Hood gets hot. Spurs lose the lead but keep it close cause Murray and Aldridge make plays.
By the end of the 2nd quarter the Spurs are up 6 points when Pop decides to play the Forbes/Mills back court. The game is tied by halftime. When Pop proceeds to put Mills/Belinelli back on the court, the Blazers just keep scoring off of open back door cuts and nail 3s in Beli's face. Spurs are down 6 in the 4th quarter when DeRozan starts to turn it on to tie the game.
Blazers are tired cause they on a back-to-back, so the Spurs manage to win the game with a 3-pointer by Bryn Forbes
Sounds about right
i can't wait for tonight... sitting courside row 10. GSG!![]()

Dejounte Murray has totaled 37 points, 18 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals in two games.
Murray is the first player in Spurs history to reach those numbers in the first two games of any season since 1976.
(He’s on a minutes restriction)
Wonder if he'll let Lonnie play or see if Beli can go 40mins
Ferrari’s minutes ain’t going anywhere tbh
Somebody give Pop his medicine. He's hallucinating
How depressing.
I’d be a smart ass and be like, what have you seen on Marco on the defensive end?![]()
