The balance of Pop not playing two strong defensive guards at the same time is that guys like Lillard literally never get a break from having an ace on them.

You can have a defensive ace on Lilliard at all times and still play White and Murray toghether for a bit, tbh.

true, but on a team where mccollum is nearly as capable of torching you... having 2 out there means neither gets good looks. mccollum has missed a couple of easy ones this quarter against forbes. that would have been a great strat against last years thunder/rox tho

The goal can't be to hold everyone to zero. Like in a world with no minutes restriction, having White and Murray each minute-match with Lillard and McCollum makes sense. But if you have to deal with that reality, then I'd rather make it CJ versus DeMar and Aldridge. That goes double when Forbes is holding his own in his match-up. CJ has only three more points in almost twice as many shots.

A bit for sure. If Pop isn't going to play Walker, then he can afford to have White eat some of Beli's minutes. But almost three games in, and Bryn/Murray has been a very strong pairing.
