Hopefully Nephew pulls the "load management" card.
I know it might be a little early for our next game thread but this is our third You Kawhi Game and there are lots of narratives to discuss about it, tbh. Also, I'll be off pretty much all day tomorrow and wanted to do the honors for this one. Last year, we ed him up at home in our highlight of the season but Demar proceeded to gift him the next game at Toronto. No more gifts to this piece of . Let's get this one and stay undefeated! GSG!!!

Hopefully Nephew pulls the "load management" card.
you, Nephew. Go Spurs Go!!! (Please don’t get obliterated.)
If the Spurs can make this a compe ive game throughout, it’s a win win.
Well, it will be the 2nd of a back to back and while Doc Rivers said the got won't be restricted this season, I'll believe it when I see it. He hasn't played back to backs in over 2 years.
Likely as this will be the second game of a back to back for the Clippers. They have the Jazz tomorrow.
Even if he sits, it will still be tough. Especially when pop puts wombat on Lou Williams for a couple of stretches.
I think the got will play against us to show that he can still play btb. If thats the case, annihilation incoming.
LA Clippers self admitted to tampering with a “2 year process” of acquiring Kawhi yet the front office doesn’t launch an investigation. Seriously, one would think the small market teams would gang up on the big market teams preying on them. San Antonio, New Orleans, and soon to be Millawaukee are recent examples. Small market teams vastly outnumber the big market franchises and the NBA couldn’t survive without the small ones. Let their voices be heard
“Uncle Dennis” should be chanted so loud every home game against Kawhi that the TV audience can’t ignore it
I don't remember what happened in the game at Toronto what with White coming off a stretch of missed games, but the game in San Antonio featured White guarding Kawhi from the start.
If White is minutes restricted (lol) off the bench, who does that leave to guard Kawhi? Dejounte? DeRozan might seem like a nightmare matchup, but the less he's involved off the ball that might be for the best. Seems like anytime there's a screen and a decision to be made on who is on who, DeRozan gets confused and put in panic mode.
This article sheds some light as to how we played that less piece of in Toronto: https://www.poundingtherock.com/2019...-kawhi-leonard
Basically, it was Mills and soft double teams whenever White went to the bench...and we would've pulled it off if it wasn't for DeRozan choking the game away. Fortunately, we have Murray this time.

I think Kawhi will play and take some rest games after Paul George has returned to the lineup. Even without him Clippers are a handful and I do not believe the Spurs will fare much better on the road than last season. I mainly look for good games of Murray and White.... especially Murray needs to hit some midrange shots and/or threes otherwise he just improved his finishing at the rim.

The billions in TV contracts are brought in by big markets franchises, and then spread to all teams. Small markets teams, as business en ies, are well rewarded for the star players market imbalance. It might not be fair from the "sport" point of view, but -understandably- the business angle matters most to the owners.
I have a feeling Kawhi will play. His last two years of resting was a sham. He doesnt have to act anymore.
We actually have a chance to win this with the Flippers playing the night before against Utah. Spurs just gotta be locked in for the entire 48 minutes and Pop has to stop playing mad scientist. LMA got the favorable match up here and should be able to cook Zubac. I hope Pop plays Murray and then rests him against the Warriors. So DJ should guard nephew. White can take care of Lou Williams. Rudy Gay should have a good game, he was super pissed when we played the Raptors at home last year. Also the Flippers defense is overrated, they give up a 112.5 points on average
I thought I’d be over it by now but I think I hate him more than I did then. Let’s get him!!!!
good
Kawhi vs Spurs confirmed
"100% Healthy" and "No Minutes restriction" .....sits out 5 games into the season
kawhi is gonna score 40 against us
Glad we got him. It’ll be a good test.
Yahoo Fantasy is reporting that Kawhi will sit out tonight and play vs. the Spurs. Interesting...I thought he'd do the opposite.
(They have also reported that Doc will play him 30-35 minutes per game, so only a "light" minutes restriction.)
Tickets sale. Clips play at Jazz tonight.
Despite what you think about the trade, this confirms the Spurs' concerns that Kawhi's injury is chronic and that he may never be "fully healthy" again.
