What sucks is that this team should be the funnest Spurs team in a long, long time. But it's being held back by the guy trying to turn it into the 2008 Spurs.
Can you imagine Pop coaching the Hawks, teaching all those young guys to get over themselves?

Every single young, promising player on the roster looks like they know they'll get pulled for a single mistake.

The only one who doesn't is Roger Forbes Jr. who has the greenest ing light in the league.

Thunder and Celtics up next. What are the chances both teams go up by double digits and the Spurs have to claw their way back all game, then momentum goes away when Pop puts Wombat on Paul/Kemba and Demar turns over the ball on a big possession while Aldridge stands there doing nothing.

the only way for pop to be held accountable for anything would be if the spurs had new ownership...

Pop's presser was priceless. None of those jerk-off writers asked him anything but Basketball 101 questions. So cowed.

This team would be so ing fun to watch if it were Dejounte, DWhite, and Lonnie playing together, getting better.

In reality, we can't even get one of those guys out there to close out a ing game

I just understand it's a process. The big 3 never repeated. They hit the peak, missed and built and hit the peak again. I don't think this team can win a le and I don't think DD especially and to a lesser extent LMA are pieces you want to build around but my hope is for the development of Murray, White, Lonnie etc and in that regard it's just about getting them to a point where they are ready to carry a team. I feel LMA and DD are redundant. You only need one. They both do the same thing and perform the same way in the playoffs. LMA is a skill set that's a lot harder to find so you hope they let DD walk this off season and keep LMA. You can't let DD walk though if the youth aren't ready. So our focus should be on the development of the youth tbh
I agree with your points. I just don’t see it this year with them turning it around. The team will be limited as long as LA and Demar are expected to lead the team and Pop overplaying the vets. It’s possible they miss the playoffs or fall back into a 7th/8th seed as their best ceiling. No different from what they’ve been since Kawhi bailed.

Pop - as well as the FO - have been exposed since TD retired. People are finally realizing what only a few of us have been harping on for years: Tim Duncan WAS the system. Period.

ps: Walker will be a star, and the faster he leaves San Antonio, the faster it will happen.
Exactly what I’ve been saying.. there’s no reason for Lonnie to take this much longer. I believe he demands a trade

I think both games are Ls.

    You already know lol
You got it. I would accuse you of actually watching the game if what you describe weren't so predictable.
    smh

7 games in and Pop is already ruining the season for me with his stubbornness and gotry.

Hard to when the old man will have a meltdown about it or just brush off their questions with “come on ask me something good.” He’s in denial of the whole thing so there’s no point.

Still way too early to hit the panic button and we are infamous for choking games away even in our 5 championship seasons and throughout the Pop era. The team will also get better once Murray is cleared to go full bore. But will that better be enough to be serious contenders? We'll see. But LMA's decline and our lack of shooters are both concerning. I really hope we can manage a trade by the deadline because no matter how better we'll be with a fully-loaded Murray, we will still need shooters.
Murray playing 35 minutes won't matter if he can't/won't threaten from outside. The Hawks figured out he won't shoot Js in just his limited action tonight. If that becomes a consistent thing, neutralizing him will be easy.

Games like tonight are why shouldn't be mad at Kawhi for being a got. He saw the writing on the wall and he had to come up with chicken ways to get out of dodge.

You don't have to like it and he's still a POS but tonight is a reminder that you should understand why he did what he did.

Sperms falling in the standings as soon as they stop playing lottery teams every night
Surprised you are talking after the Lakers lost to a lottery team tonight in the bulls. Still bitter about the Spurs not giving #2 to the Lakers.

There is a point. IF those guys could turn up the heat on him. Let him go off after every game. Let him arrogantly brush off the questions. Just keep asking them.

seems like a win win if you ask me. I think it will sort itself out this season and we could be top 4 seed in the west but we have a lot of work to do.

This fan base falls in love with players very easily and determines they are stars when in fact most are not. Simmons and Anderson are two that come to mind.

Then let's find out instead of continuing to roll with low ceiling, no defense playing losers like Belli and Wombat.

Getting paid too much still imo. He’s just breaking down more and he the bed against Denver. But he’s getting treated like the 3rd best player on the team. Might as well develop Luka from here on out.
    Luka?

Wouldn't be fair to the team. Got another 4 years of getting over himself. Maybe he'll be ready on Mills Jersey Retirement Night

Well, if our center could put up a real ing hard screen and not that fake screen Aldridge puts in, that could make Murray's job easier.
