we should be getting an mvp match up tonight but doc rivers has taken popovichs route of resting players...........popovich should be suspended or fined anytime a player rests for load management............or make a rule that if a player sits for load management similar to dejounte on back to backs that they have to miss the full week that would end this load management bs........

What would stop coaches from playing a guy one minute then sitting him for the rest of the game? Technically they played.

    82 games is too long.

Sitting out to be a diva is one thing. Butthurt Spurphan has played God/Dr. and determined that must be what Kawhi did and is doing. But, while you jacked off watching Pop n Patty fail to foul and LMA quit there was Kawhi working towards the trophy.

I don't know for a fact what Kawhi and others do or do not have. Since no one in the near worthless NBA media is going to find out, or know but are sitting on the info, how could we know? If it's legit load management then STFU.

I would be mad if I paid good money to see a player that didn't play. But they should tie the NBA awards for the regular season to games played. For example, you play a certain number of games to be considered for the MVP, first/second/third team all NBAs, Rookie of the Year, All Star games, etc.

That way you are guaranteed that players will play in a critical mass of games.

Can't blame Pop for this since he didn't start resting the big 3 until they were in their mid to late 30's. Can't recall Parker,Duncan,Manu having rest games when they were in their 20's.

Pop played the big 3 in back to back in their early 30s. Pops load management was simplistic.

He would sit out the big 3 in 4 games in five nights, he would sit out one of them late in the season to prepare for the playoffs.

No one has really any problems with that because its understood teams rest players late in the season.

Kawhi is resting in the 2nd week of the season... after resting 2 days, averaging 30mpg and with 3 days off after their 2nd back to back.

Pops guys were old and hurt from playing their asses off. Busy beating team USA and taking their national teams to championships AND ting on Kobe basically every year.

Kawhi OTOH is not old, and hasn’t tried or won a got damn thing outside NBA. He’s ing 28 and has been pulling this since he was 26. Not the same.

With Kawhi ringing last year you’d have to wonder if players will continue to point to load management as something that works

UNC coach Roy Williams must think Kawhi is a pussy too:

    https://currently.att.yahoo.com/att/...023738459.html

"I don't believe in this load management crap in the NBA," Williams said, per The Athletic's Jared Weiss. "You pay me $25 million a year and my load is going to be pretty light."

There is no way out. Teams will not accept a shorter season, broadcasters will complain only to a point as they can't survive without live sports, ticket holders will be ed but that is no news -Pop himself said it at's it.fter that game vs MIA: tough luck I am paid to coach I don't care about people coming to a game.

It is a star players league and they can do anything they want because they bring in the sponsors. That's it and there is actually nothing we can do about it.

Actually when players see Isiah Thomas and Celtics how do you think they will choose. Then you look at 18/19 finals Raptors with their load management and Warriors killed their own chances by rushing their players back from injuries and run the heck out of others. As a coach and organisation which would you choose.
