I thought Bolton and his lawyer were happy to just steer clear of the whole Trump mess.
In representing Mr. Bolton and Mr. Kupperman, Mr. Cooper denied that they were trying to delay proceedings and insisted that their legal position was not coordinated with the White House. Mr. Cooper argued that if the House was serious about an inquiry, then Mr. Bolton would be a logical person to question.
This indicates a client telling his lawyer what he wants.
The lawyer could just continue to say this is a big court mess and we have been put in a difficult spot and until it becomes perfectly clear what the courts have to stay John Bolton will be on vacation.

russia is watching to see if the usa is in ukraines corner to gauge how aggressive they can be
if the us/ukraine relation is strained

Schiff wanted the "whistleblower" to testify until everyone found out he was working with the "whistleblower" before the complaint was ever filed. Now Schiff wants anonymity even though nowhere in the whistleblower law does it state a whistleblower is en led to or guaranteed the right to anonymity. The "whistleblower" is an operative placed in the white house by John Brennan.
