haven’t at all been impressed with Murray. He’s not as bad as Forbes, Mills or Marco but he hasn’t been good this year. Maybe it’s all pops fault but my gut says some of it might be on Murray too. Maybe some of the stats guys here can see where he ranks out of nba PGs in efficiency.
Since we also have White, I wouldn’t be against trading Murray if the right offer was out there. He is a tradable asset IMO
Not necessarily, but developing a decent outside shot would make him a multidimensional threat and a starter on PO teams for a decade.
I wish he could shoot off the dribble but he can live without it, relying on his excellent athleticism and penetration ability.
U are narrow sighted... White isn't better than Murray right now and he is two years older... Murray will be significantly better... In football white would have been considered a bus driver QB... he can't take u to the promise land... Murray has that game changing quality to him...

totally agree, hes 23yrs old and imo wont develop so much to become a game changer or a star. If we could get a promising young forward for murray we should take it.

Don't know about star, but he's already a game changer. Do you actually watch the games? Dejounte is the main engine of the Spurs' transition offense, which is close to non-existent when he's off the court. Grabs the board with authority and is ready to go, always catching the opponent off guard. You're not seeing this very clearly, I suppose, because the Spurs have put two stars around him who are much slower and older than him, so we can hardly capitalize on fastbreaks as Murray admittedly still has work to do on his finishing skills and often looks to pass instead.
Out of every player the Spurs have, I firmly believe Murray is the one who changed our game the most. It's impossible to miss when he's on the court, whereas I often forget about DD (when he's not making dumb passes and getting blocked at the rim) or LMA (when he's not making stupid 20ft jumpers) being on the court. Guess we just watch different games....
Revisit this in February or March. An ACL tear is a big deal and it takes more than a year to get back from it. DJM will help the Spurs as they transition from the current roster. You can't just snap your fingers and get him back to the 2018 playoffs when he did some really good things.

i watched and agree that hes the main engine in offense, he penetrates nicely but it has poorly impact on points and assists. Plus he makes a lot of turnovers. A lot of work to do. There is a potential but he is not that guy u build a team around. Btw the amount of rebounds he has, just show how badly our forwards are. Point guard should be focus on assisting and scoring and murray isnt so great in this.
Whats really dumb is comparing Murray to a top 10 player of all time in any way. Would’ve been more credible to say Parker but even then Parker has like a top 3 win % of all time. Murray ain’t that good at setting up people bro. That’s just a fact. Offense runs better with Derrick running it.
And we are a bottom 5 team WITH Dejounte starting so yeah any wins for this team should be taken positively. The fact is that Murray still can’t shoot and still can’t play point guard.
you shouldn’t make false assumptions. Maybe you thought I was a different poster? I never said White was better than Murray. I said that I wasn’t impressed with Murray so far and that he is a tradable asset since you also have white.
Here let me say it another way. I’m also not impressed with White so far and he is also a tradable asset since we also have Murray.
The team has major issues right now and the FO should listen to all offers that can improve the team. Making it a given that Murray and White are untradable is narrow minded. I would only trade 1 of them (not both) if the right offer presented itself.
before someone chimes in saying blah blah blah don’t trade young assets for veterans, that’s not what I’m referring to. You could possibly combine Murray or White with LMA or DDR and get a young asset that is better than Murray or White. We may not get any offers like that but everything should be on the table and no player on this team should be listed as untradable. That’s my point.
