look up all the ratings during the summer for the previous years.
aint much happenin during the summer in San Antonio in the sports world.
I guarantee you that the fall 08 ratings will look nice when they come in.

And if you think about it who are the ones complaining? what do all those show have in common? the WWW Each show would ignore the forums. WOAI had only a hand full of people complaining you, RevHill ,and Pooh.
Your not mentioning the shows no one complained about like the Thompson bros on Saturday, Andy Everett show after the Spurs game, and the Tony Bruno show. Those shows would have balance they would cover many areas and they did talk about emails IMs and forums.
If Mike Taylor was to admit he is a sorry Maverick/Cowboys fan stuck in San Antonio and he would post in the forums he could go from a Zero to a hero.
As all of San Antonio do their best to convert him.
The truth is the Listener has no place to go if they want Ego free radio in San Antonio. So all this "don't tune in" talk is useless. You get Kori to stick a radio antenna on the roof of her house and have TimVP,Tpark,Ducks,The Thompson Bros,The sports grind dudes,Dawn and Peter Burns to take turns talking sports and you will see STSA and ESPN fold in less than 30 days.
Props to you AlGore for dropping old school names like Rev Hill and Pooh.
I just consider it a lesson learned ...complaining on forums generally does little to affect programming. As you point out, i was there too at one time.
Guess I've given in. Mainly, I want hosts that at least show effort to know what they're talking about. LIke him or hate him, Taylor gives the effort. So does Everett and Burns. COach A and the Thompsons too. Duel? not so sure. he seems more suited to mainstream pop culture talk radio than sports.
Just my opinion.
One thing is for sure, no matter what time you tune into local radio, no matter who is doing the show,the folks on the boards get used or on we are beneath them.

I tuned in for the first 3 minutes today and tried to listen to the story of Mike dropping his kids off for Thanksgiving and I lost it, I know it may be a sweet story with a happy ending but I couldn't stay tuned in any longer.
It felt like I was watching the View. I was expecting JimBob to tell the listeners about a cool new stuffing recipe he picked up during his Thanks Giving dinner.
Oh it got worse. The next hour was ALL SOONERS talk. Yes Sooners, NOT Longhorns. Today's show may be the worst ever. And no ing blog either.
Even though I did not wish to stay tuned in doesn't mean he didn't deliver a quality product. And after all, if the ratings are like Kori says they are then the vato is doing something right and you have to give props where they are due.
It sounds as though this gentleman's ratings are pretty high and since all of you are talking about him, he should be doing something right. I will tune into his show later today to see what all the fuss is about.
Not really. Just cause he caters to the average moronic sports fan that feeds on this kinds of show, doesn't mean it's good.
But you have to ask yourself what is "good" and to who? you as a listener?

I did tune in for a few minutes and did not find him as bad as some of you say he is. Other than the Texas twang in his voice which sounded a bit contrived and the use of words like "bra" and "homes" to refer to callers, I kind of liked him.
Maybe some of you are jealous because a non-San Antonio guy comes to San Antonio and gets the high profile gig that other San Antonians never received.
The guy is a dimwitted head who has no real Spurs knowedge. His only plus is that he is not a blind Pop loyalist. He barely talks Spurs basketball and now I can't believe he is doing the postgame talks. I hate his grating voice. Go back to Arlington, D bag. I miss Pasacrita.

Look Brah, Chris Duel was not only born in San Antonio he was baptized in the San Antonio River and even he gets on a daily basis. Try bringing in Tony Bruno who was born in jersey to do Sports here in San Antonio and see how he is loved by the masses.
It's not the color of your skin or where you was born it's talking Spurs and not about some Chicks camel toe that people want coming out of their AM radio.
I bet if he did half an hour of nothing but accordion playing, the show would be so much better, period. , call it the "South Side menudo half hour in honor of the NFL" and watch the ratings e for that half hour. I would tune in just for that, just saying...
