Now, we can debate policies all day long but that's a different matter entirely.
Even with respect to policy alone, how is Biden not significantly better than Trump? Trump wants to cut taxes for rich people even more than he has, Biden wants to reverse Trump's tax cuts AND increase the cap gains tax rate to ordinary income tax rates. Trump wants to gut the EPA even more and accelerate climate change, Biden is proposing a more aggressive climate change plan than anything Obama ever sought. Biden also wants to add a public option that will force insurance companies to lower rates, Trump wants to bring us back to pre-Obamacare days where insurance companies were totally unregulated and could people over as they saw fit.
I don't think Biden's policies go anywhere near as far as they need to (particularly on climate change), but there are significant differences between him and Trump. Not to mention another term of Trump only stacks our courts with Fedsoc zealots more than it already is.
Giuliani for me and it's not close. Only argument I can make for Christy is he's younger, so him dying would be more impactful from a "years of future influence" standpoint. Rudy probably has less than ten years left regardless.
Without any context to the number I've heard, the tax rate before Trump lowered it was 35% for the ultra rich, and Trump lowered it to 20% and Biden wants to get it to 28.
This is one way to install yourself for life. Kill everyone in key positions within the government until there is no one left.
Yeah that's that corporate tax rate and I'm not a fan of Biden only raising it back up to 28%, but he'd also establish a corporate minimum tax on book income though which Obama never had (making it so companies like GE and Amazon would actually have to pay something).
The highest cap gains tax bracket is currently 20%, Biden's plan raises that to 39.6% for incomes over $1 million. Right now the 20% cap gains tax makes it so ultra rich individuals basically have a top marginal rate of 20%.
