And I wonder if that includes the online donations made directly to the Red Cross.
I'm sure if they do have it, it will be sold out and the city of New Orleans will benefit.
And I wonder if that includes the online donations made directly to the Red Cross.
I'm glad that Bush has enlisted the help of Bush Sr. and Clinton to oversee relief efforts. It shows an awesome solidarity between former political adversaries.
George W. does love to slight Carter though![]()
No, it doesn't. I think it's only the stuff locally through Operation Katrina Relief. And I wonder if that includes the online donations made directly to the Red Cross.
"....and GTFO?"
It hadn't changed from ONLY $2.89 from yesterday where I ususally go.....
Not to throw water on the city's plan, but did they say where they are going to house the folks at Kelly? I had an office there for a while (doing work for Standard Aero/Lockheed), and there is not a whole lot of places that I can remember that would house people. Unless they're planning on erecting a tent city, I don't know where they would put them.
On a positive note... I was really proud of my daughter yesterday. When she got home from school I showed her the online donation form from where we donated to the Red Cross so that she could see that we donated in memory of my Dad, who died earlier this year. I thought that would make her feel better. After she saw that she walked over to her savings jar and handed me $50 (a lot for a kid) and ask me to go online and donate it in her name in memory of her grampa to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief.
She sure knows how to suck up to me.![]()
It looks as if not even the federal government understood the scope of this thing when it happened.
they are like the Super Duo. If they let Carter in on it they'd be UNSTOPPABLE.. he's very respected by the outside world.
The wife went online today and donated $200 and when I get home this weekend, I plan on going through all our clothes (especially the daughters baby clothes and toys) and taking them to either the Salvation Army, or if we can, directly to Kelly.
I'm starting to like the governor now because she's been on the TV ing out the looters. Go Gov!
I think Bush Sr. & Clinton make such a cute couple.![]()
The salvation army guy just said avoid clothes and stuff just send money at the moment and large size canned goods.
yeah, but not too respected in the "inside world" as he is seen snuggling up to Castro and Chavez.
Its a terrible terrible tragedy about whats going on here...
yes, they do. Sort of like Laurel and Hardy. Or Lucy and Desi. Fred and Ginger. I love to see them together. It warms my heart.
desperate SOS just now from mayor of NO.

sad, tragic, and embarassing.
1:09 P.M. - (AP): The singer known for "Blueberry Hill" and "Ain't That A Shame" has been missing since Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.
His agent says Fats Domino planned to ride out the storm at his house in a low-lying area of the city with his wife and daughter.
Al Embry says he spoke with Domino Sunday night by phone, but hasn't been able to contact him since. Embry says he would think Domino is safe because "somebody said he was on top of the balcony."
Domino is 77 and has rarely appeared in public in recent years. I hate to say it, but i thought that he had died years ago.
I LOVE Blueberry Hill.
Why can't they throw some food and water out of the choppers like they did in Indonesia?
I thought I heard on the radio they were going to use the big hangar...
I've seen third-world countries do a better job than this on disaster relief.
THey need to get the airport open, even one runway, and start flying in 747s, 767s, and 777s to fly people out.
But what do I know, FEMA's got everything under control![]()
Too cute. You're daughter definitely has a very good heart. You're obviously doing something right there.
I do a little at home Telemarketing work on the side, and we've started taking calls for the Red Cross donation lines. My phone was ringing off the hook this morning with people giving donations. I took orders for at least $2000-$3000 worth of donations in about 4 hours time, as well as dozens of calls from people wondering what else they can send, or offering places in their homes for victims who dont have anywhere to go.
It's inspirational just to see that people really are trying to do whatever they can for this disaster. There may be hope for humanity in America, after all.![]()
Can't say I disagree with him.New Orleans Homeland Security Chief Terry Ebbert calls FEMA's response to Hurricane Katrina an embarrassment.
The sad thing is both parties have been cutting FEMA funding on Capitol Hill for years. ing idiots.
