You brought up cheerleading you nut job. It's not emotions, it is common sense. Obama has no rights to teach our kids.
Yeah it's not about emotions with you.

And I was calling you a cheerleader.

1)The President has zero rights to teach our kids. Conversation should end there.
I'm pretty sure he's got a better ability to teach than your local kindergarten teacher.

2)Throw in the fact he wants to do what ever he wants and not tell people is another reason.
Uh...that's not a reason for him to be barred from "teaching" our kids

3)The fact that people hate this guy is another. People are sick of this guy.
    Again, not a valid reason

    4) He wants kids to make posters for him, tell him what he should do as president (ha, most americans don't want healthcare, cap and tax, actual stimulus money to boost the economy),he wants to know how he inspires 5 year olds.
He wants to stoke the fire of thought. BAD BAD BAD. They be witches!

    5) Kids should not be subjects to politics in school. Leave that for the adults.
Where does it say anything about being political? Please find something in the press release where it says anything political will be taught

    6) He is a elective official. Not a teacher.
Same as reason 1 I guess. Now you're just padding your stats

7)He also shouldn't give teachers talking points before and after his hour long school lesson.
    What?

8)This whole thing stinks of mindless self indulgence and and dirty politics.
How dare he discuss the value of education! BURN HIM!!!!

I am moving on. If you don't agree that is fine with me.
I'm glad because I'm fairly sure normal, non-nutjobs don't agree with you.

    [QUOTE]
Are you really that stupid and/or that far left that you not only discount whatever else I wrote but completly ignore it. Let me copy and paste the other reasons for you that I have said several times.
I'll put a number next to the other reasons so hopefully even you can figure out this is not about hate. Perhaps that is a word that I should not use to describe how I feel about him. But I do know he is a liar and very very bad for our country. Then I will sit back and wait for more dumbass remarks from you.
1)The President has zero rights to teach our kids. Conversation should end there.
He's not teaching them anything. I went to my kids career day and spoke to his class. Should career days be banned now?

2)Throw in the fact he wants to do what ever he wants and not tell people is another reason.
He's the president. I am not sure every past president has kept us in the know 24/7 365. You make up whatever reason you want and then run with it

3)The fact that people hate this guy is another. People are sick of this guy.
I am going to assume there are about 53% of the public who dont hate him.

    4) He wants kids to make posters for him, tell him what he should do as president (ha, most americans don't want healthcare, cap and tax, actual stimulus money to boost the economy),he wants to know how he inspires 5 year olds.
Should we inspire our children? Is asking kids what they want the President to do a reasonable question?

    5) Kids should not be subjects to politics in school. Leave that for the adults.
Is he doing a stump speach? What politics is he going to talk about? Are you stating that NO POLITICIAN should ever speak to children in school?

    6) He is a elective official. Not a teacher.
No one claims he's trying to be a teacher however you do.

    7
)He also shouldn't give teachers talking points before and after his hour long school lesson.
I ask my 6 yr old everyday what he did during the day. Guess what he says? Nothing. If a sitting president were to talk to his class and he comes and tells me that he wants to be president I think that's a good thing. If he comes home to tell me that he wants to be a responsible citizien that's a good thing... right?

8)This whole thing stinks of mindless self indulgence and and dirty politics.
    This is just you.

I am moving on. If you don't agree that is fine with me.
It's fine if your an ignorant idiot as well.

Wow! You guys really don't pay attention. I know, it was nicely suppressed during the election campaign but, I know we posted information on it here.

From 1995 to 2001, Barack Obama was the Executive Director of the Chicago Annenburg Challenge. An organization whose stated objective was to improve the Chicago School System. By their own account, they failed miserably.

It was like pulling teeth to get the records released because, well, among other things, it established Obama had a closer working relationship to Bill Ayers than he had wanted to admit but -- nonetheless -- the CAC records were released and according to their own records, Obama was a failure at the only executive position he ever held.

Well, until the current one, that is.

And, you're right, most of the information can be found on "right-wing" blogs but, they all refer to the CAC's own do ents -- the release of which was fought over tooth and nail -- to support the claim.

For six years, Obama ran an organization dedicated to improving schools. Spent millions upon millions of dollars; and? Nothing, nada, zilch.

According to CAC’s own report: “There were no statistically significant differences in student achievement between Annenberg schools and demographically similar non-Annenberg schools. This indicates that there was no Annenberg effect on achievement.” It also indicates that Annenberg failed, not because it’s altogether impossible to improve urban schools, but because CAC’s heavily politicized community-organizer partners weren’t any good at doing so.

Nevermind it tied Obama more closely to Ayers. Nevermind that much of the $100 million dollars dedicated to the CAC went toward radical socialist programs having little to do with education. The fact remains, Obama headed an organization formed to improve Chicago schools, it spent millions of dollars, and it failed miserably. After 6 years, schools were worse.

Don't argue with me or the blogs. Argue with the CAC.

The most entertaining part of this thread is George Gervin's Afro, the person with the walking/smiling marijuana leaf in his avatar, being the most vocal one in this thread about our country's priorities when it comes to kids and what they should be exposed to. How many times have your kids seen that when you post on SpursTalk? Still smoke a J every now and then when the wifey's not around? Think about that before you talk out of your ass and make fun of people about the way they decide to parent their kids (Democrat or Republican).

Anyway, both sides have very valid arguments but this debate is senseless. Obama will speak and everyone will forget it ever happened. Does anyone think that kids are actually going to pay attention long enough to recall any information from this speech? Plus, Obama is under so much scrutiny at this point in time I highly doubt he'll use this opportunity as a political platform to further advance his agenda.

so where does it say he detroyed the education system? What empirical data says they were worse 6 yrs later? You do have that proof right? Or are we supposed to take the word of a right wing fanatic?

LMAO! Why do people who've never experienced a war and death always spout this bull ? I doubt you've ever fired to kill before Mr. internet revolutionary. Let me ask something, have you ever been shot at with intent to kill? Have you ever seen a pool of blood from a wound? Are you willing to risk your kids lives? You honestly think non right wing people don't have weapons or have technical savey enough to create and operate nuclear weapons?

Don't answer that, I'm pretty sure nobody cares.

Of course, you're all right. Obama was executive director of the Chicago Annenburg Challenge when it spent $100 million dollars to improve Chicago schools and did not accomplish that.

Did it destroy Chicago's schools? I don't know...but, it certainly didn't help. And, one could argue that possibly whatever they were doing for those six years stood in the way of others trying to make improvements.

But, you're right. Nothing shows he destroyed Chicago's schools. Just that he spent $100 million doing nothing to help.

No different than today...only on a much larger scale.

You all must be very proud of our president.

Also a liar. You see these same type of lying assholes at townhall, shout that they don't want government health care and then end up in the hospital the next day using their medicare for a heart attack.
The answer is not to give everyone free healthcare. We can't afford it.

The answer is not free healthcare for everyone. You really need to get that out of your head. Most people want healthcare reform. Start with that. Don't give up and take away jobs from people, compe ion among businesses, making every tax payer pay for this. Government take over it not the answer.

I think what it boils down to is people still can't get over the fact that Obama won the election. All the people that you hear crying at the town hall meetings and the ones being offended by his speech to school children on tuesday is just another example on how misinformed people are. I think if people were to stop listening to the likes of Rush Limbaugh and think for themsleves they could act in a mature manner. The man is just going to address the importance of education I doubt if he would turn this into some kind of political opportunity for his own agenda. I mean president Obama and his wife are pretty well educated I think kids hearing from a well educated president will stress the importance of staying in school. I mean look at our former president what a joke.
