We've had William Clay Ford Sr. as the Owner of the Detroit Lions since 1964, and have only 1 Playoff Win to show for it.

When the NFL Commisioner asks you do you need help, i.e. help you get a GM that knows what the heck they are doing, and you turn down his help, then it's on you.

I'm happy we won yesterday, but the millstone to this Organization sits in the Owner's Box, and will continue to be until he sells the team or is gone.

I will become a huge Lions fan the day Senior dies an unceremonious death.

I'd my money down the Lions will be a very good the very next year, post Ford, Sr.

As reference: see Blackhawks, Chicago for evidence to what a loser owner can keep your team from becoming through piss poor management and an eye on the bottom line, not the win column.

An unidentified Lions fan wearing a Cliff Avril jersey storms down the steps of Lambeau Field to the fence behind Detroit's bench and begins a tirade on Sunday. The, um, fan called Lions players "disgraceful" and added, "You make me sick" before slowly walking up and away. (Daniel Mears / The Detroit News)

Report: Browns trading Corey Williams to Lions

Browns defensive lineman Corey Williams made it clear last year that he wasn't happy in Cleveland. Now he's on the way out.

Chris Mortensen of ESPN is reporting that unnamed sources say Williams will land with the Lions in exchange for a late-round draft pick. Mortensen writes that Williams is scheduled to take a physical on Friday to finalize the trade from the Browns to the Lions.

Although acquiring Williams would bolster the Lions' defensive line, Mortensen writes that the Lions wouldn't be done upgrading their defensive line there. Per Mortensen, the Lions may also sign free agent defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch and draft Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

Williams played in all 16 games for the Browns last year and recorded four sacks.

    Sources: Lions to acquire Williams

On the surface a trade that proposes sending Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Corey Williams to the Detroit Lions on Friday may not seem like a big deal. But it could influence the NFL draft on April 22 with the Lions choosing second overall.

If Willliams lands with the Lions for a low draft pick, as sources say, he is expected to return to the role he played with his original team, the Green Bay Packers, which allowed him to play a more aggressive style which is commonly called a three technique. The Packers designated him as a franchise player in 2008 but traded him to the Browns for a second-round draft pick.

Williams could also be part of a revamped defensive front-four for the Lions and would free them up to select Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh over Oklahoma's Gerald McCoy if both defensive tackles are available at No. 2. Suh is considered by many NFL evaluators to be more versatile along the defensive front. The Lions also have not ruled out trading down a few slots to collect an extra draft pick and still land another impact player, either on defense or the offensive line.

Williams is scheduled to take a physical on Friday to finalize the Browns and Lions trade.

The Lions also will pursue free agent defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch, who once played for coach Jim Schwartz, the former defensive coordinator of the ans. Vanden Bosch could have other suitors. The Seahawks also are expected to consider Vanden Bosch and Aaron Kampman as potential pass-rush defensive ends.

In dealing Williams, the Browns would pick up their 12th pick for next month's NFL draft and league sources say they have been very active in discussions with other teams regarding potential trades and free agency signings, including restricted free agents who would require draft pick compensation. The Browns have made it known that former Pro Bowl nose tackle Shaun Rogers is available for trade.

    Well, here we go again.

Team is better but the back 7 will be a sieve. Is it possible to have the worst defense for four consecutive years? Why, yes, yes it is.

Stage one is on track as the optimism is full tilt for the first time in quite a few years.

That said, the opener scares me. It reminds of opening in ATL a few years ago. I'd like nothing better than to put Cutler, Martz and Marinelli in their rightful place but I just don't see it.

Yeah, well this season is surprisingly over quicker than most others.

Stafford is rumored to be out anywhere from 6-8 weeks to the entire season.

And you, NFL. That was an easy TD.

The NFL loses points from me for that ridiculous rule, sucks for the Lions..

Stafford is a huge blow as well, Lions can't catch a break..even Mike Williams is producing now, insult to injury for Lions fans ..

Lions fear that Stafford will miss as little as 2-3 weeks, as many as 4-6 weeks

With Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford suffering an injury to his throwing shoulder in the regular-season opener, the early word filtering out of the Detroit organization is that the team believes Stafford will miss two-to-three weeks, at a minimum.

Depending on the results of the MRI, the team fears that Stafford will miss up to four-to-six weeks.

The Lions' next six games includes games against the Eagles, Vikings, Packers, Rams, and Giants. Detroit's bye comes in Week Seven.

UPDATE: A source close to Stafford describes the team's concern as "all speculation at this point." X-rays were not taken at the game because the Lions had no access to a machine at Soldier Field. X-rays and an MRI will be performed in the morning.

Clearly a touchdown using common sense.

But the referees made the right call based on the rule.

What a ing stupid rule though.

...and my friends wonder why I wont go to Ford Field or spend one ing dollar on this organization until that old er is finally dead.

What a pathetic team. The Bears suck, this much is clear. But what was supposed to be a strength in offense is a handicap with Stafford and an abortion without him. The defense actually did mildly well, surprisingly.

Exhibition games are such bull indicators for teams.
