That was a good read.
Great post... seems like a nice guy with a great character.
Any evaluation of his potential?
He seems mature to realize this

Ian made the 1st team All D-League.

Andre Barrett made the second team, Marcus Williams third team and DerMarr Johnson got honorable mention.
Congrats to Ian.
BTW, Nice read on SAS.
We need to get SAS to start posting here...good read.
Mahinmi not starting tonight, guess he won't play to be safe for the d-league playoffs.
Yeah, Ian and Andre sat out the whole game.
Toros play the winner of Dakota vs. Sioux Falls next Saturday.
A little update on Mahinmi's summer schedule.
French NT practices starts on July 12th but Spurs told French NT staff that Mahinmi won't be available before July 28th.
I guess that it means Mahinmi will play both summer league with Spurs (Vegas and Utah).
It's not sure what Mahinmi will do after July 28th but it seems that Spurs will let him play with French NT.
Mahinmi will have a busy summer, 2 summer leagues, French NT practices and a dozen of games with French NT. I find it's a good news because he needs to play.
Sounds good. Summer league this season will be important for him. Summer league compe ion is a step up from D-League. If he can play well in summer league, it'll make it much more likely that he's part of the regular 12 next year.
Austin up 74-62 on sioux falls with 4th quarter set to begin shortly. Mahinmi with 21 pts and 11rbs so far..
Ian's season probably finished..Went up for a dunk, got undercut (again) and landed on his back (again) where he couldn't even make it off the court without help.. This sucks cause the guy was playing his ass off...23 pts, 12 rbs, 3blocks..
Mahinmi played well before this injury. I guess that he has re-injured his hip/back.
Toros win this game and will play the final against Idaho. The first game will be on Monday. Props to Darvin Ham, he played well in the clutch.
I'm quite concerned about Mahinmi's injury. Let's hope that it's only a bruise hip/back and that there is nothing structural behind that.
it is whta you hoped bruno. ian said he was checked and no damages that will prevent him from playing. however, i do not expect him to be 100%
Please for God's sake don't let this guy be injury-prone.
Ian is athletic and uses that athleticism to finish strongly at the basket. Injuries will happen when you do that. You expose your body to more risk.
Obviously. But he's been hurt enough to be put out of games something like four times in the last ten months.
The last 2 weren't his fault though. And they were in the same spot. What are the odds of that happening again?
I hope these injuries don't make him skittish around the rim, but this could be a blessing in disguise if it motivates him to develop other aspects of his offense (i.e. a solid midrange jumper).
I'm not saying any of them were his fault, but some players have the knack for getting injured. It's the T.J. Ford thing, where Ford doesn't get hit differently than any other player but keeps winding up on his neck. Ian's not as bad, but there's a bad sign for being injury prone.
any news if Ian will be playing tonight?
I was thinking the same thing...I would be amazed if he played tonight, guy couldn't even stand straight up or even make off the floor with any assistance for that matter. Game is at 8:00 tonight, right?
His statline from last night looks 100%, I don`t know how injured he is...
Ian Mahinmi 16 Points, 12 Rebounds in 44,5 Minutes
FG 5-11, FT 6-7, Reb 12 (O2,D10), Ass 2, PF 2, ST 1, TO 2, BS 5
But the Toros lost at Idaho 89-90

And Andre Barrett made it to NBA`s Top 10
The deciding game just started on NBAtv in case you want something to watch before the Spurs game.
