I have to believe plenty of schools have the funds to match Tech. They just aren't as organized in their plan of attack. I think that's how Tech is currently ahead of the curve.
Just like Leach's offense, just give it a couple years and everyone will try it.
I would not say ahead of the curve, it’s a completely different strategy.
when Tech can do that 3 deep they are in Texas, Georgia, Ohio State territory.
The talent level all the way through is very deep on these teams.
what is interesting is being able to do this with 22 guys and not getting any injuries. or even a good quarterback, who has access to a four star first stringers. There are no excuses for Texas besides, it’s very hard to win a large tournament. You gotta get a bit lucky here too. I would also say a star QB injury can knock anybody out, just like in the pros.
I would add this is why I hope Texas can get Krempin. if you can get a guy on the Oline that can play all the positions, then you don’t need to be as deep. But I think A&M realizes this as well.
This update has Baylor taking the lead over Texas, and Tech isn't going quietly.

The 247Sports account has put in a Baylor pick.
Wiltfong at On3 had an article this morning talking about increased confidence in Austin about TE Kaiden Prothro from Bowdon, GA.
IT added that they believe TE Keawe Browne putting off his commitment right after being on campus suggests Prothro's visit went better than expected despite him being low-key about it.
Texas supposedly has the highest NIL offer on the table for Prothro, and Georgia has two four-star TE commitments in this class already although they're lower-ranked.

According to IT, Texas is in their best position so far to pull off the upset for LB Brayden Rouse of Marietta, GA.

This is a really big one imo. Our linebackers have the possibility of being really good this year. But We need an AntHill replacement. This guy fits the bill from what I’ve gathered. Im not sure if Lefau stays. Bo Barnes and Ty Anthony Smith will fill in nicely after that possibly. If Rouse is as good as some think, we have a first or second year starter quite Quickly.
He picked Tennessee . No momentum right now.
Even though this was expected, it hurts to not get a high end Lecagy.
We struck out on both legacies.
This one will be revisited by UT in late summer or fall.
Im not giving up on this one yet unless Tennessee uses the Tech model.
He's one of a few to keep an eye on for sure. This year will be very interesting with the House Settlement and the lawsuits to come (I'm sure)
He picked Baylor
Gentlemen-
FYI I am overseas until the 29th and posting is difficult with limited phone and Internet connection, plus the time difference.
Please don't wait on updates and post whatever you see.
Thanks,

Don't worry, I'll take care of this shop while you're gone
"..3. Texas Longhorns
Area of concern: Offensive line
The Longhorns lost four starters on the O-line to the NFL draft and are breaking in a new quarterback, although Arch Manning made two starts last season, as well as several key receivers with the losses of Matthew Golden, Isaiah Bond and tight end Gunnar Helm. They lost tackle Kelvin Banks Jr., the 2025 No. 9 draft pick, but Trevor Goosby got some key playing time last year at the position when Banks was injured. The Longhorns also lost 56-game starter Jake Majors at center and face Ohio State in Week 1, posing a quick learning curve for an almost completely new offensive line group. -- Dave Wilson..."

Ouch. Might be a longer year for Arch than many realize.
