Any word on Darrion Johnson??? He's the only big name in the state of TX that I haven't heard much from.
That kid is going to be a monster.
LOL there is a total meltdown thread on texags.com There are 3 lines of group think, 1 is that it doesn't matter because Texas will never touch aggsy in recruiting. 1 is worried with the changes in Texas recruiting and 1 is busy patting themsleves on the back because Texas/Mack is scared of the aggsy recruiting juggernaut
I'm really happy they started offering earlier... But I do think tamu is a threat in recruiting now, but I think it was more of a LSU and bama thing. Especially since they are giving commitable offers to 7th graders now! Time will show when the season starts on how many tamu recruits decomit, but it could be a huge problem if tamu has any kind of a good season, say if they beat LSU or Florida.
Long jump just started for those who want to watch Goodwin on live stream -

OrangeBloods reporting that 2014 WR KD Cannon is attempting to set up an unofficial visit to UT next week. He supposedly wants to see a few of the schools that are high on his list before Mount Pleasant begins their fall practices.
Texas not only school getting help from Penn State transfers. WR Justin Brown transferring to OU.

Per 24/7, 2014 QB Jerrod Heard spoke with Bryan Harsin on the phone yesterday to make his offer official and he was informed that he is definitely the QB Texas wants for the 2014 class. He'll be on campus next Saturday. The offer is apparently a "game changer" and the Heard family is "fired up."
Clemson star WR Sammy Watkins has been suspended for the first two games of the season for his May drug arrest:

TCU QB Casey Pachall admits to failing drug test in February. He also said he's used ecstasy and cocaine:

For those that didn't have a chance to watch or read about it, WR Marquise Goodwin did not make the finals in the long jump today.
From '14 DB Darrion Johnsons twitter:
Every1 asking me if I got offered by Tex.. Naw I didn't. The say I gotta prove off the field that I'm ready. It's not talent. Ima top player
So, once again, you were right Floss, it is about grades and off the field. Good to know!
I'm pulling for this kid!
Tough break for Marquise, but the team will be happy to have him back.
I like this move quite a bit. Ronald Monroe MIGHT have a higher athletic upside, but Heard is a very well developed passer for a dual threat quarterback.
Swoopes is very raw, and Heard is a of an insurance policy. One of these two will succeed. I'm starting to like the QB depth at Texas moving forward.
Makes you wonder where the "OU leads for Cannon" speculation comes from. If Cannon makes it in before the season, and visits again in the fall, I could see Texas edging ahead.
If Thomas can maintain his speed and quickness, I think he'll stay outside. He will likely be on of the larger DEs to play at Texas.
Texas hitting the I -20 corridor hard. I love it. Could be a huge recruiting development if the staff sticks with it.
Haha. Bring it Mex. With LT and Westlake in the same district, the rivalry is just going to get more heated. I love it.
RSJ will join the fold again. He'll take his visits, he'll see some great games in person, but he'll be a Horn eventually. Texas offers the best academics, and the best football / basketball combination.
I agree I think Texas gets Benenoch and Billings. I think Texas will land Luke. I'm optimistic on Harris. He has had hundreds of chances to commit to Florida, and he hasn't done it yet. Remember Akina was all over Harris early. There's a relationship there. Could come down to playing close to home (Mama Harris and Florda) or the best path to NFL (Papa Harris, Coach Akina and Texas).
I think Texas can definitely use the "pass happy" Big 12 offenses card when recruiting pass rushers and DBs against SEC compe ors. It worked with Shiro Davis.
If Texas were to miss on Marcell Harris, I think they will aggressively pursue Chevoski Collins. If that happens, I think they land him.
Billings gives Texas some flexibility. The center battle at Texas could be epic. Billings, Raulerson and Darius James slugging it out. My gut feeling is that Billings remains at center, Raulerson plays guard and James gets a shot at OT.
I like Benenoch's upside. You can't go wrong with a raw, athletic Nigerian American. I think he has a big senior year and shoots up the rankings. Redshirt him and watch him grow into an excellent RT at Texas.
Today is reporting day. First practice is tomorrow! Once everyone gets settled in and does the whole media thing, they'll all head over to Mack's for a BBQ.
It came directly from Cannon, he said he's more of a 'small town guy'. His father stated he thinks he may open up more to Austin after more visits but at this point OU has edge.
It's official that the first two games of the year will be on the Longhorn Network. Plan accordingly.
