No the series in which you have never won a le.
It looks like the SPURS are tight. We've had several air balls and a bunch hitting the front iron. Loosen up and beat this s.
No the series in which you have never won a le.
Same story as Game 3 and 4 in 2006.
That is a lesson for all of us, Manu Loves Tony.![]()
I think the calls have been ok.. couple of softies but you get that. Mavss are just fouling our big 2 harder on the drive.
Tony coming ready to play in the 3rd should give us the spark we need to get the lead. Manu playing great so far.
Salvatore is always inconsistent. er.
Otherwise, your point about going in is a good one to make - Same thing Jason was yelling at the TV in the close of the half.
I think it's mental with the Mavs. The Spurs are intimidated and feel like they just can't beat them.
You don't know that. The fact that Terry likes holding balls should be what you're concerned about.
Get physical? He's blowing his whistle at everything in sight! 6'6" Finley jostling for position with Dirk, and just because that 7-foot German vagina awkwardly flails his limbs like a pansy because he can't push a smaller man around, they give him the damn call. Oberto has 3 fouls precisely because of this 7-foot charmin-soft less got selling the refs all these off-the-ball foul calls
If human vision is taken into account, i'd say Oberto is being more productive.
I still get mad when I think about the officiating that series (eh, be fair, that post season) and the Spurs inability to adjust to the calls being made.
Who else feels we should do Bonner over Elson in this game?
I haven't seen ANYTHING from Elson tonight that tells me he's worth keeping on the floor
Also, I'd much rather see Barry run the point than Vaughn.
Vaughn doesn't really bring anything to the table, he's just there to not turn the ball over.
We don't have time for that in a game without TD.
Yeah, Oberto's been doing fine. Too bad he got some early fouls
These guys have got to be tired of losing to the ing Mavs... down 7 at halftime? They need to come out with intensity in the second half and kick some ass.
I agree. Bonner's playing with heart. Don't know about his defense. But if he could spend time on Dirk, I'm for it.
despite the bad calls. Spurs need to play smarter basketball. They had a couple of bad turnovers in the first half. And any one not named manu and tony need to contribute.
Yah Oberto is stepping up in the absense of Tim but needs to stay out of foul trouble. Very active and an inside presense .
The Spurs need a little dose of that -- makes Pop's job easier this time of year. It's all good.
So you know Jason Terry personally to know he is a piece of off the court?
First time i see Manu React to a prick.. i am surprised...
If you're talking about the call on Finley right at the end of the half, it was a good call because Finley was holding him. Finley needs to not use his hands and use his arms and body to muscle up and his feet to get position. The call on Oberto was weak but the Spurs got a couple on Dampier that were pretty close to the same as well. The refs have been inconsistent, but not really one sided.
They're doing the right thing by muscling Dirk. Sure you'll get called for a few fouls, but in the end you give up a few FT if you keep him frustrated and MIA like they have so far. That is exactly what you do to him and it's working. The Spurs just need to shoot the damn ball better and run a better offensive set that's in control. They've been wild and undisciplined on a lot of possessions and have just flat out missed shots at times as well. Defense hasn't been bad, just need to step up the O in this one.
I think Manu's more vocal this season to everyone. Remember Jason Williams?
He might have a chip on his shoulder now.
Oh. Absolutely.
To be clear, I'm not pulling an officiating card and blaming our poor play on the refs - Spurs have to adjust. But we see this inconsistency in calls every ing time we see Salvatore, and it kills me.
Actually, yes. I've seen him around Dallas several times and have seen him be a complete to people on three or four occassions. Not even at night clubs, just at restaurants or at Wal-Mart. No need for that bull , just go about your business like I've seen Dirk do on a few occassions as well. Dirk seems like a pretty good guy when I've seen him around.
You guys have said that I find to be pretty ridiculous but as a Mavs fan, I'll just get my ass chewed out if I try to defend it - BUT - I thought this one was a little crazy. If you lived in the Dallas community, you'd know he wasn't a POS off the court. Think what you want about him as a player, but he's a great community guy off the court.
Yea. /rant.
Anyway...as far as the game, Mavs look pretty bleek again. No shocker there. Spurs definitely have a shot at the game -- I'm surprised some of you would even question that.
I am liking Bass in that second quarter though.

I actually think Tony should focus more on distributing the ball now. He's being guarded well. Perhaps trying to get someone else going would turn out better
