Oh no...more fanning of the flames to the inevitable ST Manu v. Tony argument
You misunderstood. My point doesn't have crap to do with fanning flames of a hypothetical Manu vs Tony argument. The point is Tony is and has been a key contributor to Spurs championship teams.

He obviously considers himself a starting PG in this league - and I can't say I blame him. Therefore, I understand his statement - if, in fact, he actually made that statement. It has nothing, whatsoever, to do with Manu

    when it all boils down..

i don't want either of them to leave..

and parker still deserves the starting nod.. hill is a great secondary option.. plus.. he's not a PG anyways.. he can play the SG and even the SF atimes..

    im totally not even convinced..

despite my claims of welcoming trade options.. it'd be silly for spurs to pursue trading parker.. unless we're getting an allstar in return.. and i don't mean just any allstar.. people should be asking us for parker.. not us asking them... u feel me?

Not ssaying you were, just that CoM will point to this as an example of Manu>Tony since Manu "doesn't mind coming off the bench and will do whatever it takes to help the team win." I just hate the argument even though I'm more of a fan of Manu's game. I know what Tony means to this team because I'm not stupid.

It's time to pass the torch to Hill. He will have ups and downs like TP did in the beginning, but the time has come. Although injured last year a bit, TP's game style is easier for teams to defend nowadays. Players are faster and more athletic. I have finally convince myself Spurs need to part with him.

This wold require that they play the same position.

I just don't buy all this "if hill starts at PG" crap. Hill will start at shooting gaurd and manu off the bench... no question. Not even a possibility, so its like parker saying.. if Tim Starts at PG I want to be traded....

You really ing expect Hill to be a full 30minute starter at SG? He will be ABUSED night in and night out by bigger guards, he's simply not long and strong enough.. Sorry to break it to you, but he needs to move permanently to the PG spot whether here in SA or somewhere.. The sooner the better for Hill's future in the NBA..

Look, nothing is gunna happen, I wish the spurs would make a deal (Parker in a GOOD DEAL!) but the Spurs are smart their not gunna trade unless its unpassable, which seems to only happen to LA and Boston. I don't see nobody throwing around good talent for trade except for Bosh and Paul and were good on PG, and getting Bosh would mean a third team would have to join in and not mind getting the bad end. To many things need to happen for a good parker trade to happen and I don't want Parker leaving for sum bull.

LMAO..............what? Trade a player that you KNOW what he can do.........still in his prime? and keep a player who may have played his best already....or may not have? That is too big of a gamble. Tony is an all-star, that is why everyone who needs a point want him. He has TORCHED these teams in the past with his quickness and drives to the basket.
Tony is not still in his prime. He's only going to get worse. He hasn't shown the ability to develop a decent three point shot or become an even decent distibutor. He still has the ability to get into the lane but he has lost some speed from a few years ago. Within the next three years, he is going to be a pretty easy cover.

The only thing he NEEDS to do is play the position that he's best at. If the Dallas series didn't give you a clue as to where that is, then nothing will.

Well he was a starter at PG that series.. There's no way Hill is successful in this league as a SG.. He simply cannot succeed as a SG in a PG's body.. He's not tall enough, strong enough or THAT athletic to guard bigger 6ft6 and up SG's..

You think what you want, but if his career is as a SG, than Hill will be at most an OK role player.. He can become a great player if he adapts to the PG position (yes he needs to adapt and play there constantly) and develops himself in that position..

    100% with you

    Hills potential > than Tony's

Tony's speed is the only things keeping him a solid player, but he's an old young guy and Hill needs to be a PG not a SG. So if Tony doesn't wanna be a bench guy(regardless of that to me) then he needs to be traded for talent to fill other positions.

    Chad Ford, ESPN Insider:
Here's a little tidbit for you to end the draft. I've been on the phone the last few minutes. The Wolves have been discussing a deal with the Grizzlies that would send Al Jefferson to Memphis for Zach Randolph. Your thoughts?
Either Kahn is literally the dumbest person on earth or Ford is a huge liar. Why on earth would Minny float that idea with Z-Bo possibly going to prison?

He'd be traded to LA for Adam Morrison and Mbenga as so as allowable, and of course it would be the 'best offer available'

And to think my gets locked, and this stays open? Hmmmmmm, well I heard the same thing too. I don't want Parker to leave because we don't have the replacement that people think George Hill is going to be, but he's our only trade chip. Duncan is not going anywhere, and no one wants Jefferson, so Parker must be the sacrificial lamb.
