Pop has to start playing the young guys more going forward, need to have a contingency plan after missing the playoffs.

Murray, White and Walker are a very awkward fit together, as bad as it gets for a young core from a fit perspective, but you need to figure out who you're going to build with for the future. Forbes is a finished product, don't waste any more time on Rudy Gay or Belinelli, etc.

White/Walker and Murray/Walker have looked great together, and the limited minutes we've seen of Murray/White have been promising. The youth fits together fine, it's just a matter of whether or not they're worth building around. The rest of the season should be dedicated to looking at that.

Good point, didn't think about that, I fully agree that I can't picture Aldridge or Gay taking on mentor roles in a contract year. DeRozan won't and shouldn't as he still has the potential for 1 more big contract.

Pop has really dug himself in a deep hole with this roster construction and uncertainty of the future. He hasn't even given himself a chance to evaluate the young players to a full extent, either. This is why I think he's going to surprise us and retire sooner than expected IMO.

For that matter whether it be White, Murray or Lonnie IV why do they always have to be paired with a midget? Creates a virtual 4 on 5 defense. Portland very much a 3 point shooting team. So Grandpa counters with a midget on the floor.

White and Mills were not bad, because Mills was also hitting his shots. And I don't mind Mills who have been in clutch situations before. If Spurs had the lead, then yes Pop should put his best defensive line-up.

I'll be the biggest dejounte Homer on this board. But dejounte has been very inconsistent. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt since he is coming back from a torn acl and has no one in the lineup to help him on defense. But even from draft night, it was clear that he is not a point guard and shouldn't be molded as such. He has no mentor to help him this year, no one to picky back off of for advice compared to last year he played. The least pop can do is play him more with Derrick white so it takes the pressure off dejounte to have to be a point guard. Or just start both of them together.

It's so annoying how both dj and Derrick can't even play 25 minutes. Having Jamal Crawford on this squad would do wonders for dejounte. Someone who could put dejounte in check and keep him motivated and consistent.

I'm sure Forbes has some kind of value. Its not much but some. A team that doesn't have 8 Guards on their lineup may be okay with him as a backup SG or a 10th man that can come in from time to time to get the offense going. If he's on, keep him in. If not, take him out ASAP.

We’ve really fallen off a cliff. It is crazy how little coverage the spurs are getting by the media. Tv shows, talk radio, web articles, etc.

Murray, Walker and Gay were all worse than Forbes tonight.

Walker and Bryn . I thought they both delivered on their roles. One guy didn't get to play the third quarter, pop went with Marco while Bryn got his consistent mins.

How was Walker worse? keeping in mind they all got roles to play as in instructed by the coach.
