jordan, shaq, and even tim duncan have had crazy good scoring games. he passes enough, especially in the triangle offense. and where is there any proof that kobe actually raped the skank with 8 other dude's inside her loose vagina.
lakers homer.

who the could win a ring with Smushand Kwami brown as starters?
nobody
So your saying it would be a major upset if the the team that beat them last year......or the team with the best record in the league defeated the Lakers in the finals?
Quit acting like this current Lakers team walks on water. It's not 2002.
Realist. The Lakers are "supposed" to win, anything else is a failure. If the Spurs beat them, it's a huge upset. The Spurs certainly CAN beat the Lakers, but it will not be from the standpoint of the favorites.
Just look at the thread les to see if Spurs beating the Lakers would be a major upset. I've never seen such doom and gloom in the Duncan Era.
You're in the very, very small minority that thinks the Spurs are favored to beat the Lakers:

not bad considering this thread was a fail when you started it
I think my post count at the time was less than 10.
and look at you today. congrats on all of your accomplishment.
Thats not my point. They thought I was trolling since thats nics post count was low.

ANd yet, 11 pages![]()
God dammit I hate you.
The Lakers are supposed to win? For a Lakerfan homer, yeah. For everyone else, Boston or Cavs are favorites. Either one of them beating LA would not be a major upset - you have no idea wtf I was saying, do you, or what you said that spurred it on?
Never said, nor implied Spurs were favored. Its obvious you misunderstood my response+sent the wrong message in your own post. You should work on your communication skills before you make broad assumptions about every basketball fan. You're in the very, very small minority that thinks the Spurs are favored to beat the Lakers:
I don't blame you. It must suck to keep getting owned.
Yes, that's why the Lakers "winning it all" have the worst payout in Vegas. The Lakers are heavily favored this, year, it's not even close
You have the favorites and you have the underdogs. Spurs would be the underdogs. When the Underdogs beat the Favorites, it's called an "upset". Read your own words:
That's not true at all (the bolded part). The first 3 peat team was built around 3 great defenders (MJ, Pip and Grant), dudes who could make wide open 3's and, interchangeable centers and the fact that MJ could score in the clutch. The second 3 peat team was basically the same. Players changed but the "type of team" was basically the same. If anything, the 2nd team was better because they upgraded at PF and had Kukoc who could score off the bench. They lost in 95 when one of the key pieces...a PF who could defend inside and out...was no longer there.
IIRC MJ has never won one playoff series without Pippen. I believe Pippen almost led the Bulls to the ECF without MJ, and he did get to the WCF with the Blazers. Pippen has actually had more playoff success than MJ on his own....granted he has obviously been on better teams. Which gets to the main point...surround Kobe with enough talent and he is good enough to lead a team to a le.

According to you. I do not go by this classification system. I will play along to show you why you're wrong. You have the favorites and you have the underdogs.
So Boston beating LA would be an upset?Spurs would be the underdogs. When the Underdogs beat the Favorites, it's called an "upset".
Sounds like your problem, not mine.Learn some English.
Spurs, Cavs, or Boston beating LA would not be a major upset. Period. Boston most definitely is favored in a series after last Finals.Read your own words
the hawks are 4/1? that's gotta be a mistake. I'd much rather drop my dollar on the Spurs or even the Magic.
interesting that the Jazz are more favored than the Nuggets.
Although they lost, that doesn't change the fact that the Lakers were favored.
Yes, that is why I said you are the small minority, you have your own classifcation.According to you. I do not go by this classification system. I will play along to show you why you're wrong.
Yes, see Vegas odds posted by Cobbler. Celtics are the underdogs. So Boston beating LA would be an upset?
Sounds like a personal problem to me.Sounds like your problem, not mine.
See Cobbler's odds. Favored teams get the worst payouts. Lakers have the worst payout. It appears in your world that the favorites get the best payouts. Vegas would go broke with your "classification".Spurs, Cavs, or Boston beating LA would not be a major upset. Period. Boston most definitely is favored in a series after last Finals.
Lefty's posted an article for you, and he's definitely not a "Laker homerfan". Your beloved and "favored" Celtics are getting +400 and the Spurs up to +500. And even the Cavs are a +200.
But don't let facts get in the way in Zosa's world.
Boston Celtics repeat chances growing slimmer
I bet you're a big fan of Hollinger.
In the real scenario with many different factors and not just one, every fan knows Boston teabagged Kobe and Co. last Finals, and could easily do it again this year.
what a homer, "if ANY team beats us its a huge upset."
You're not the defending champs. LA got ass ed in the Finals by forty by the very team you say is the underdog - an underdog on course for 60+ wins again. Don't let these facts get in the way of "allanon's homerism."

This is the real world, not the fantasy league.
Those are the current Vegas odds, not some fan's opinion or the ramblings of a mathematical geek. $$Billions$$ of dollars are at stake, and only in your world are the Lakers the underdogs.
Lakers with <+100 while the lowest for anybody else is >+200 makes the Lakers the very clear favorites.
Read the article by Mr. Lefty, it explains it all quite clearly.
only in your world is boston beating LA again a major upset![]()
Yah, real favorites, Boston +400 payout.![]()
