Props to the Mavs for the comeback. The ending was eerily similar to the Celtics-Spurs game from last night... right down to the missed 3 at the buzzer down by 2!

this is the worst way to lose

dig yourself a deep deep hole and then almost almost crawl out
Blowing a 22-point lead and losing the game by 2 points is pretty awful, too.

They threw the ball to Dirk and Odom got his hand on it..Dirk was at the top of the Key, he threw an up fake Odom fell for it and he missed a very difficult 3 point shot.
Oh ok thanks. Sportscenter's coming up soon anyway.

Odom needs Gasol anyway. Its good to know he didn't miss a critical freethrow again down the stretch.

As far as I'm concerned, the Mavs lost by their halftime deficit. 21 points.

True. But I'll take a win in Big D sans two of our starters.

to anybody who thinks I was trying to pull an epic reverse-jinx.........sorry but I wasn't. I have truly given up on this team. I don't think they will beat the Celtics or the Spurs, and I dont' think they win more than 1 game in the playoffs.

I love the Mavericks but I can't wait for the rebuilding to start. The longer we delay the rebuilding process, the longer Mavs fans will be waiting for that elusive first le.

Hah, I thought the Spurs had won last night because of their first quarter lead. The NBA is built on crazy runs I guess.

The Mavs wouldn't be doing better overall with Harris. They have too many deep-seated problems that couldn't be overcome with the Kidd trade.

Once a choker always a choker.
I wouldn't call that a choke job. He was forced to take a difficult shot. If it was a wide open jumper then it'd be Dirk choking.

I can live with a shot like that going for the win. In fact I blame the inbounder Dirk got open pretty fast from the set play, and the guy inbounding delayed the pass to Dirk.

The way the West is, the playoffs have started. You can't take a quarter off, much less two and a half. No excuse for not protecting your homecourt against an undermanned Laker team. That hustle and intensity, where was it in the first half?

good to see Erick Dampier reverting to a non-factor thief of Mark Cuban's money.

He's still the biggest mistake Cuban ever made.

Speaking of which, why wasn't Kidd inbounding the ball? Why did we get Kidd if we're not going to put him in late in games or have him utilize his passing skills by inbounding the ball?

Well Mavs, rest up, you're gonna beat the Celtics on Thursday.

Looks like the Rockets streak is ending tonight. Texas Triangle looking a bit like a piece of pie with all 3 teams losing in 2 nights.

    Beat those Celtics!

I mean bottom line, Dallas is very talented and very good. But the effort they put forth over the final 18 minutes needed to be there for 48. And they're at a distinct disadvantage in every game when it comes to coaching. It's because of like this that I just can't have any real faith in them. I'll root for them and continue to watch the games, but I don't trust them.

The way Kidd is being utilized in big games is very disturbing. Avery barely trusts him to bring the ball upcourt, than he hands it to stack or jet.

By the way, I never do this but I will today:
Shut the up to anyone that says that Dirk has no heart or that he is not clutch.
The man is one of the most amazing athletes I have ever seen. And to top it off, he is even better as an individual.

The only thing I'll say is that he's sometimes too team-oriented and unselfish for his own good. He's got to take that shot there when the help defender is closing off his angle to the basket instead of passing out. I wouldn't question his heart, character or physical toughness. He plays hurt on two permanently sprained ankles.

And yeah, Avery is just mystifying the way he uses Kidd. He'll be gone in May anyways.
