I was going to mention Kapono but he has not played at all recently.
Ummm, +10000 on that notion. I still stand that Novak is a garbage signing that does nothing for us.
If we want a 3 pt shooter that can do absolutely nothing else I hear Jason Kapono is getting bought out.
I was going to mention Kapono but he has not played at all recently.
Senor Spur,
I think that's a little unfair about Pop and getting size.
The problem who was out there that they could realistically (not what fans think they could get with unrealistic trades) and play in front of Splitter.
Plus with only 25 games left it would not be easy to incorporate a good big into the Spurs system in that short of a time period before the playoffs.
According to CBA rules, the Spurs have to have at least 13 players on the roster. Novak is just keeping that spot occupied until or unless the Spurs find someone they actually want.
Butler is my favored target now. I like Tracy McGrady too, but considering Detroit's stance on their players I doubt hes getting bought out...
It's a simple Six step process
1) Let Novak's 10 day expire, do not resign
2) Sign Rasual Butler
3) Sign Marcus Cousin
4) Take it into the playoffs with those 14
5) Win le
6) River parade (my money is on Neal with the bigass sombrero)
James White!
Rasual Butler has been sucking this year. He's not off the list entirely, but he's not nearly as appealing as he was this offseason. If Balkman gets bought out I'd rather have him.
Yeah I'd be cool with Butler although I'm sure other teams would be interested also that might top his list.
Not real sure what BOS and OKC were thinking. OKC obviously panicking and changing up there whole philosophy about how they want to play offensively and defensively.... Don't like what they are doing and I don't think they are going to make any noise come playoff time.
Don't really like the move for Boston either. They are now relying on the broke down O'neal's to take them home at that C position which I don't really see happening. Green is pretty overrated also tbh.
WTF?
How old are you?
Today is Thursday... and 15:00 is 3 pm.. being that it's probably eastern time (since I don't know when it's over) it was at 2 pm.
With bought out players you don't typically get the pick of the litter. Theres a reason there getting bought out.
PS: Blair provides more floor spacing than Balkman. I like him too but hes probably counter productive in our system.
Yes...waive Derrick Brown please.
Butler only helps on one end of the court and that's not the end of the court I'm worried about. If Butler's the best available then so be it, I'm fine with getting him. But if the Spurs have a choice I'd rather have someone who has the potential to play a little bit of defense or rebound.
If he's bought out, I say full court press on getting Pryz first. If we strike out, then a wing like Butler. Playoff rosters shorten anyway, and I think our 5 player rotation at the 1, 2 & 3 is set in any event.
I doubt Pop gives Splitter much run these playoffs, so it makes sense to pick up vet with playoff experience.
I would be happy with either Brown or McGuire.
Jeffries and Songaila also buyout candidates.
Splitter is better than Songaila and bigger, might as well gamble it with splitter.
Maybe the Spurs made a blockbuster trade, just hasn't been announced yet!![]()
I wrote that a few hours ago, Why would you set a dead line for the entire US at eastern standard time when parts of the US like Howland and Baker aren't going to be at that time for another 8 hours? Either use zulu like real people or use the timezone of your country's westernmost point.
You wrote that at 2:45... 45 minutes after the deadline..
I don't think you understand time..
See whenever an eastern website says the deadline is going to be 15:00pm eastern time.. then you should do your own math.. wherever you are... they're not going to announce the time for every time zone in the US.
The Bobcats have waived guard Sherron Collins and forward Dominic McGuire.

RT @alanhahn Source says upon completing a buyout with the Rockets, perhaps as early as tomorrow, Jared Jeffries will sign with Knicks
I understand time, that deadline was never stated as NAEST (UTC-5) time. It makes no sense for an international organization to set deadlines in UTC-5. It makes sense and is common practice for international organizations to use UTC time or Zulu, or second most commonly the western most timezone of the countries the organization is in which in the case of the NBA is UTC-12 the latest time zone in the United States.
I like Dominic McGuire young, athletic, and solid defender probably the best defender out there right now who is bought out. He's not a great shooter, but he can knock down a 3 if open, and can create offense.
Would like him if no other SF's get bought out
McGuire is actually decent insurance as a back-up as a big 3 small 4 who is cheap, not reason not to see if we can take a flier on him.
Looking at his stats on yahoo sports, he has only hit 2 3s the past 3 seasons and only attempted 5 in that same span. What I do remember from his playing time a few years back, is that he was a good rebounder and defender; something we could use at the SF spot
