I don't think LSU is a threat until Edwards visits. He would have to move some things around for that to happen.
So it's Texas vs. Arkansas for DGB
and Texas vs. FSU and LSU Edwards?

i didn't think mario was that serious about LSU, but he will be visiting on the 20th, and more notably if you watch video now posted on ESPN main recruiting site below interviewing him also on hornsnation now, he really 'lights up' when they ask him about LSU. by comparison he describes his visit to Texas as 'nice'. yes i think we are leader but pay attention to the little things and i am very cautiously optimistic.

Edwards made some interesting comments in a recent interviews with Hook Em 247 and Noles 247. Basically, Texas and FSU are the leaders. Will visit FSU on the 14th and LSU on the 20th.
Wednesday, February 1st.
Junior Day confirmations continue to roll in. 2013 OL Kent Perkins has said he'll be there and he's down to two schools; Texas and Texas A&M. See some quotes from him below. I think UT picks him up rather quickly once he's offered:
“It's pretty much Texas and Texas A&M for me,” Perkins said. “There are some other schools that are good, but I've visited both schools already and feel like I'd fit in the best at one of those two schools.”
“I think I really do like Texas a lot,” Perkins said. “They have everything that I need to be a successful student athlete there.”
“I like how they finished games,” Perkins said. “I saw a team that played tough and might have struggled in the first half of games, but they finished strong and they're always a top program.”
“The last time he was here he told my coaches to make sure I knew when the junior day was and to find out if I'll be there, and I'll be there,” Perkins said. “I like Coach Searels. Just the little I've gotten to know him, I like him.”
“With the Texas team, it's like the Dallas Cowboys,” Perkins said. “Growing up in Texas, it's something you just do.”
Here are the recent quotes from Edwards:
“I think it's down to three,” said Edwards, with those three schools being Florida State, LSU and Texas.
“I'll have my decision made by signing day,” he added. “After the visit to LSU, I'll have a couple of days to feel everything out and examine everything and see how it turns out.”
“I'm still verbally committed to FSU,” Edwards said. “But I did like (the visit to) Texas. (The visit to) OU, I wasn't too fond of. It's going to depend on how these last two visits go.”
“I can say Texas and maybe Florida State are in there right now,” Edwards said. “We'll see after these visits.”
“I never really just gave Texas an opportunity,” Edwards said. “I figured because it's Texas, and the Longhorns, and Austin that it would be a country town, but it's not. It's the Capital. There's a lot of things going on down there that are just really fun."
“The strength and conditioning program was great,” Edwards added about what impressed him on the visit. “It's somewhere where I can get my degree in about three years, so that stood out to me.”
“The ends stand up, the ends are down (in UT's defensive scheme). They could have four ends on the field at the same time,” Edwards said. “They can move me down to nose tackle but still have four ends on the field, which is cool. So really they just use their ends in a lot of ways is what I learned.”
“I talk to Mack Brown and Coach (Oscar) Giles,” Edwards said. “With LSU, I talk with Coach (Brick) Haley. With FSU, it's mostly Coach (Darin) Eliot.”
“Just somewhere where I can fit in and go be a big part of the program,” Edwards said. “Somewhere to go and get my degree that makes me feel comfortable, and after football somewhere where I want to be happy.”
Thank you Floss. I didn't want the Hook 'Em 247 Police coming after me.
Does Mack still have in home visits with Edwards and DGB?
Pretty sure the player he's referring to when talking about drug tests is Stills.
Yep. Mack is saving those for closer to National Signing Day.
Regardless we know Edwards or DGB aint going to ou.
He must certainly does. I bet Mack will swing by a few days to a week before Signing Day to finish strong.
BOOM, goes the dynamite.
Percentages from Inside Texas on the 2013 defensive recruits:

Purely a guess. Just piecing the clues together. Wasn't Stills suspended for a game or two earlier in the year for "breaking team rules"?
Stills got popped for the season opener for a DUI back in January 2011. Judging by his hair, I would agree that Stills looks like he's failing drug tests.
All of the UT commitments are arriving in San Antonio today for the 2012 US Army All-American Bowl. Picture of LB Tim Cole below. When asked if he was going to be recruiting for UT this week, he responded:
"Dorial Green-Beckham. Try to get him to come to Austin. Yes sir, I'm one of the more vocal recruiting types."

Funny note worth mentioning. OL/DL Arik Armstead checked in this morning wearing a UT sweatshirt. He says there's no meaning to it and he's focusing on other schools, but we'll see if the UT coaches try to recruit him at all this weekend or convince him to make the short drive to Austin to visit campus. He's more than likely staying on the West Coast for college so UT's efforts could be all for naught, but we'll see if any positive news surfaces.
A video interview with WR Dorial Green-Beckham. More of the same positive reviews on his official to UT and he still has no additional official visits set up as of today.

More drama with WR Thomas Johnson...still tons of conflicting reports on him out there, but here's a direct quote from Hook 'Em 24/7:
"Let people out there know that I am committed to Texas. I'm going to take my visits."
The report goes on to say that he's scheduled a visit to Oregon on January 21st. He's supposedly talked all of this out with the staff recently and unless they've given him permission to make that visit, I don't see how that date makes any sense. January 21st is the same day he's supposed to officially visit Austin with the rest of the UT commitments that couldn't make it in over banquet weekend because of playoffs. So, either he has the staff's permission to visit Oregon, has some brass balls and is willing to chance an official visit to another school knowing his UT offer could be pulled, he simply doesn't care either way or he won't end up going to Oregon at all. Pretty difficult to tell exactly what's going on but that's the latest.
