this guy seems to think that hasty withdrawal is deliberate
https://tribune.com.pk/article/97380...tan-so-hastilyRegional terrorist organisations of that sort have historically taken advantage of Afghanistan’s chronic instability to train their fighters prior to carrying out attacks in other countries. Furthermore, the large-scale destabilisation that might likely accompany any intensified period of civil war after the US’ withdrawal might result in an even larger refugee crisis than the present one, which could put severe strain upon Chinese partners like Pakistan, Iran, and the Central Asian Republics. This might in turn create unforeseeable risks to their stability and lead to setbacks for some Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) projects in those countries.
These observations make one wonder whether the US has ulterior motives for withdrawing from Afghanistan so hastily. From the American perspective, some of the country’s strategists might be trying to implement the vision of late National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski who introduced the concept of the “Eurasian Balkans” in his 1997 book led “The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy And Its Geostrategic Imperatives”. He was the mastermind responsible for the Carter Administration’s decision to arm the Afghan Mujaheddin and later proposed destabilising Central Asia after the Cold War in order to divide and rule China and Russia.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/18/polit...wal/index.htmlFormer President Donald Trump on Sunday praised withdrawing US troops from Afghanistan, while knocking his successor's timeline for doing so.
Though the former President offered his support of President Joe Biden's plans to bring home American troops, he urged his successor to draw an end to America's longest war well before the September 11 deadline that Biden set last week. Trump said that while leaving Afghanistan is "a wonderful and positive thing to do," he had set a May 1 withdrawal deadline and added that "we should keep as close to that schedule as possible."
"I wish Joe Biden wouldn't use September 11 as the date to withdraw our troops from Afghanistan, for two reasons. First, we can and should get out earlier. Nineteen years is enough, in fact, far too much and way too long," Trump said

This is a pretty big disaster in terms of US personnel and assets needing to be evacuated at the 11th hour, but beyond that there’s nothing else we could have done by remaining in Afghanistan when the Afghani army refuses to fight on its own.
Let’s see it play out. I’m going to be right there with you if those troops are there post any reasonable time to evacuate Americans.
