Not surprised at all Peat dropped so much. He looked really unimpressive all week in UA practices and especially in the game. He was getting beat almost every play if you watched him closely. I figured he'd drop at least 20-30 spots if not more after watching.

Sure playing AZ ball doesn't help with low compe ion, not to mention these games favor D-Line big time. Be that as it may, I felt a lot better losing out on him in seeing he is obviously a guy that does not look ready for prime time.

    From the Cigar on DGB

First off, it sounds like hints and tone are starting to change the coaching staff's thinking about DGB, and now they feel pretty confident they aren't going to get the five star wideout. The family hasn't notified the staff definitively one way or the other, but the way they've answered certain questions along with certain questions they've asked the staff indicates Texas won't finish first in this thing come tomorrow morning. If we had to call it now we'd say about 20% Texas at this point. Or let's put it this way, the Cigar says the staff would be very surprised if the Horns get DGB's signature. Our staff still thinks it's Missouri.

    Other updates on DGB

Supposedly OU was called and told they were out. Their sources believe he will pick Mizzou.

Arkansas told Javon Williams WR his offer is committable - which most thought was a backup if they lost out on DGB. So looking like they may be out.

No news Texas has been eliminated, but thoughts are Mizzou has too much to lose and will win this battle.

I was never confident we would get DGB, but its a shame that a player this good is going to a team that will be irrelevent throughout his college career. He wont even sniff a BCS bowl much less a national championship. If he goes to Mizzou hes gone to the NFL in 2 years, cause he wont do much winning there.

It's nice to have Quincy Russell waiting in the wings and getting better while not occupying a scholarship. We'll be fine at DT.

Players who have left after their sop re year left because they red shirted their first year in college, that's why you were confused. Like Earl Thomas and Vick.

I gotta think that ship (pun intended) has sailed for Russell...2013 numbers will be tight.
IMO 2013 prospects (especially @ DT) are Blue Chippers.

    Welcome to the board, Boom.

2013 will be fun at DT because you've got Golden (who was #2 on UT's board) already committed to A&M. Then you have Manning (UT's #1) who is an OU legacy. He'll be at their Junior Day this weekend and I'm hoping he won't get an itch to commit early. It will be interesting to see where Russell fits in and if his spot is controlled by someone else.

Rivals signing day prep article -
    http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com...sp?CID=1324954

    -------------------------

    Southwest Region

Missouri might be the winner for top prospect Dorial Green-Beckham

DGB's day The No. 1 storyline in the country is where the nation's No. 1 recruit will end up. Dorial Green-Beckham hasn't done a recruiting interview in close to a year and those around him have remained tight-lipped as well. Arkansas was thought to be the favorite but Missouri now seems to have moved into the driver's seat. Nobody will really know anything until signing day when he makes his decision on national television. Even Oklahoma and Texas remain somewhat cautiously optimistic.

    A&M vs. Oregon
With few uncommitted top recruits left in the state of Texas, many eyes will be on wide receiver Thomas Johnson on signing day as he chooses between California, Oregon, TCU and Texas A&M. However, the Aggies and Ducks have another battle brewing as longtime A&M pledge Bralon Addison is strongly considering switching to Oregon. The U.S. Army All-American will make his ultimate decision known on signing day.

    Mack the man
Texas usually has its class completely full by the summer, if not even by the end of February. However, head coach Mack Brown took a different approach this year and it paid off with the Longhorns' best late haul in years. Texas flipped Kendall Sanders from Oklahoma State, Daje Johnson from TCU, Adrian Colbert from Baylor, Dalton Santos from Tennessee, Bryce Cottrell from Oregon and Marcus Johnson from Texas A&M all relatively late in the game.

Update on 2013 QB JT Barrett from OrangeBloods...the staff called his coach recently and basically said he's been approved for an offer. He is supposed to speak with Wyatt and/or Harsin tonight to get more information. The report said he's still scheduled for the second Junior Day. Swoopes will be getting offered for sure at the first Junior Day, so I'm really curious as to how the staff plans on proceeding. Like we've talked about in the past, Barrett's future with UT could depend on what kind of vibes Swoopes gives the staff in two weeks. It doesn't seem as simple as offering both guys and taking the first to commit, but we'll see what happens.

Seeing which kids sign with Oregon tomorrow is the thing I'm most excited about other than DGB's announcement. I can't convince myself that Addison, TJ and Harris are all Aggies at this point.

Lucky Mizzou and poor DGB. He won't be able to really showcase his ability to the fullest nor compete for a championship. I'm looking forward to seeing him compete in the SEC. I wish him the best and I'm convinced that if we were closer that we would have won out. The staff did a of a job in this one, TJ sure looks attractive again.

OrangeBloods pulled back on this report essentially saying that things are in the beginning stages with Barrett and no decisions have been made at QB for the 2013 class. I believe that to be false considering Swoopes has been confirmed for the first Junior Day for a few weeks now. I think the staff tries their damndest to get him locked up early and there are a lot of positive rumors that they will.
