Updates from Hook 'Em 24/7...
**Big week for WR Dorial Green-Beckham. He'll be receiving an in-home visit from Bob Stoops on Tuesday, Bobby Petrino on Thursday and he'll officially visit Mizzou on Saturday. Mack is scheduled to be by this week but plans have still not been solidified because of the recent communication with LB Dalton Santos and the scheduled in-home visit with DE Torshiro Davis on Wednesday.
**The official visit for ATH Daje Johnson is still on for this upcoming weekend. The Texas coaches even called him again recently to tell him what to expect on his official visit and reiterate that they want to bring him in as an all-purpose back on offense. Some thought the staff may have been leaning towards defense, but he's still being recruited as an offensive/return specialist.
**A talented prospect that hasn't been talked about that much in recent weeks is 2013 DB Antwuan Davis of Bastrop. He's still recovering from a back injury that required him to sit out towards the end of the 2011 season. Duane Akina went by his high school on Friday to see him work out so interest from Texas is still there. Davis is scheduled to attend Junior Days at Baylor, SMU, Texas Tech and TCU. Nothing yet on an invite to Austin. Because of that back injury, I can see him as a guy the staff may wait on until after spring evaluations.
**Looks like Texas got on 2013 S Kameron Miles of West Mesquite just in time. A handful of colleges have come by his high school and called his coach recently to express their interest. An early commitment in the making? See his quotes below:
“The only coach I really talk to is Coach (Bruce) Chambers at Texas," he said "I talk to him every now and then. I love Texas. They are high on my list, but I’m open to other schools too.”
“There are a lot of schools starting to show interest. Miami (Fla), Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Oregon. There are a lot,” he said.
“I don’t know (about a commitment on Junior Day), but probably," he said. "Or it’s a possibility, but I don’t know for sure.”
**Lastly, see this quote from an East Texas source on LB Dalton Santos concerning his official visit to UT this weekend:
“He will visit (Texas) next weekend and commit,” the source stated. “That's what the family always wanted and [it's] his dream destination.”
