Welcome.. I'm pretty new as well. Damn good Stuff going On here. But I can see him at DE or like a hybrid. I like the philosophy of getting the most talented players on the field anyway u can, but I get most excited imagining him at the linebacker spot reading plays and attacking! it's looking good but I hope we seal the deal with him. This is something to be excited about considering so much negative news we've been getting lately.
I totally agree! Edwards already threw us to the curb (and suprisingly, I am not all that upset about it) and the DGB sweepstakes seem to have my most attention. I still feel that it is an Arky / Texas battle to the end because let's face it, helicopters just don't have nothing to do with foooooosball.

Quotes from TE Vincent Hobbs about his official to UT. I love his mature take on the situation but also feel for him since he's probably nervous as waiting for the staff to call him back.

"What stood out was the family atmosphere. They have good people there," Hobbs said. "I already knew a couple people on the team when I got down there. Everyone is really cool with each other, they have a good time with each other."

"They showed us a lot of the academic parts, where we'd be practicing, what they do at practice, basically the routine for the football team," Hobbs said. "We talked a lot throughout the whole weekend. Me and coach (Bruce) Chambers watched film on what the tight ends do and that kind of stuff."

"Today before I left, I had a talk with coach Chambers and Mack Brown. That's when they told me what's going on, how things are going to work."

"They said they'll let me know by Wednesday or Thursday (on a possible offer)," Hobbs said. "Coach Mack Brown approved me and they had a staff meeting and they all approved me. If they can fit another scholarship in, then I've got it. If they can't, that's just how it goes."

"I was planning on that one (an official to Colorado), but (Horn head) coach (Rodney) Webb and I are planning to talk about it tomorrow," Hobbs said. "I told coach Webb, if Texas doesn't offer, there's a pretty strong chance that I'm going to Memphis."

"If they (Texas) give me the offer, I'm going to take it," Hobbs said.

"I wouldn't say I'm nervous. I'm anxious. Obviously, if they offer, I'm going to be excited. If they don't, it's just business. It's nothing personal. I still like the staff there. I know it's nothing personal. It's business."

    Updates from Hook 'Em 24/7...

**Big week for WR Dorial Green-Beckham. He'll be receiving an in-home visit from Bob Stoops on Tuesday, Bobby Petrino on Thursday and he'll officially visit Mizzou on Saturday. Mack is scheduled to be by this week but plans have still not been solidified because of the recent communication with LB Dalton Santos and the scheduled in-home visit with DE Torshiro Davis on Wednesday.

**The official visit for ATH Daje Johnson is still on for this upcoming weekend. The Texas coaches even called him again recently to tell him what to expect on his official visit and reiterate that they want to bring him in as an all-purpose back on offense. Some thought the staff may have been leaning towards defense, but he's still being recruited as an offensive/return specialist.

**A talented prospect that hasn't been talked about that much in recent weeks is 2013 DB Antwuan Davis of Bastrop. He's still recovering from a back injury that required him to sit out towards the end of the 2011 season. Duane Akina went by his high school on Friday to see him work out so interest from Texas is still there. Davis is scheduled to attend Junior Days at Baylor, SMU, Texas Tech and TCU. Nothing yet on an invite to Austin. Because of that back injury, I can see him as a guy the staff may wait on until after spring evaluations.

**Looks like Texas got on 2013 S Kameron Miles of West Mesquite just in time. A handful of colleges have come by his high school and called his coach recently to express their interest. An early commitment in the making? See his quotes below:

“The only coach I really talk to is Coach (Bruce) Chambers at Texas," he said "I talk to him every now and then. I love Texas. They are high on my list, but I’m open to other schools too.”

“There are a lot of schools starting to show interest. Miami (Fla), Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Oregon. There are a lot,” he said.

“I don’t know (about a commitment on Junior Day), but probably," he said. "Or it’s a possibility, but I don’t know for sure.”

**Lastly, see this quote from an East Texas source on LB Dalton Santos concerning his official visit to UT this weekend:

“He will visit (Texas) next weekend and commit,” the source stated. “That's what the family always wanted and [it's] his dream destination.”

I misinterepreted the report on DE Torshiro Davis from Hook 'Em 24/7. It was actually the Texas staff that called and cancelled the in-home visit. With Santos now in the mix and the writing on the wall with Davis, I guess the staff figured it was the right time to pull the plug and focus their efforts elsewhere.

Per Hook 'Em 24/7, Mack is in Aledo today to do a school visit with RB Johnathan Gray and he's scheduled to be at Dallas Skyline tomorrow.

It's good to hear that Antwuan Davis ripped off a sub 4.4 recently. I hope he gets all the way back soon. If he's healthy, he could be the best junior corner in the state of Texas. I'm glad to see that Akina is still in contact. Texas should wait until he's healthy and offer. Davis loves Texas. I think both sides are willing to be patient.

I have high hopes for Kameron Miles. I think he's the best junior safety in the state, and it's not really close. Landing Miles early would giveTexas plenty of insurance to pursue Marcell Harris until the very end.

As I said on Twitter: Lose a Samurai, gain a Maulerson. Torshiro would be a nice edge rusher at Texas, but the program will survive. I'd like to Kendall Thompson get spun down to DE with Santos likely in the fold next season.

Raulerson, Daeshon Hall and possibly D.J. Ward would be an outstanding DE class for Texas in 2013.

Awesome to see Tflosses' thread get so many new people, I still remember the first one he made.

I'm stoked on Santos, was wanting him to get a serious look since last spring.
