no reserve small forward. Manu banged up. Diaw out for the first round. Unless you count Manu as a small forward, our backup frontcourt right now consists of Blair, Bonner, Baynes. They're going to make a move

"Nevertheless, disagreements over Jackson's role resurfaced in recent days, and the Spurs believed that Jackson had started to have a negative impact on the team's younger players. Within the Spurs, the organization didn't believe Jackson was playing well enough to bring him into the playoffs under these cir stances." If that is true then good riddance.
LOL!
It improves it.Never mind the question marks about what this does to team morale,
Nobody. This is for the playoffs, his 0 minutes are being replaced by no one's.who is going to fill the minutes,
They aren't.and if the Spurs are going to bring in anybody else
Jackson's not a good defender anymore. He doesn't have the quickness needed. Putting him on the floor to defend Durant or Lebron is a GREAT way to lose a game.It boils down to this: if the Spurs want to win the le, they are going to have to go through both Durant and Lebron. Kawhi is great, but he can't do it by himself against two of the biggest foul-drawers in the league. Jackson was the only other person who could reasonably fill that void which is now gaping wide open, especially with Diaw being out.
I've got a silver lining for you -- we're a better team now.No silver lining here. This just sucks.
Paul Garcia PS @24writer 12s “We thought we did with Jack what was best for our group.”-Pop on Jack release. #Spurs
Paul Garcia PS @24writer now “No conspiracy theory. He was classy,” said Pop of informing Jackson. #Spurs
Can Jack be eligible for the playoffs?
Matty choking for the last 3 years in a row is setting a worse example for the younger guys tbh.
Meh, standard politically correct PR response. I guess I shouldn't have expected differently, especially coming from Pop.
He isn't. Players had to be waived last month to be eligible.
I don't believe so. I think he's ineligible since he was waved so late in the season.
Paul Garcia PS @24writer 3s Pop on releasing Jackson: "You've got to do what you've got to do." #Spurs

Pop on whether Jackson was upset about playing time? "You'll have to ask Jack." #Spurs
Jack must have done some really ty stuff if Pop tolerated the more vocal, social media obsessed DeJuan Blair.
Pop's press conference "Pop called Jack's decision "a basketball decision and a family decision." Said Jack handled news in a "classy" manner" by @JMcDonald_SAEN
Pop did not bite on question of whether Jack had been disgruntled. Said only dismissal "what's best for the team."

I wonder if Jack will tweet about the playoffs. And if he does, I wonder if he'll tweet in support of the Spurs.
This is really infuriating. Jack is a ing warrior... especially come playoff time. Pop should have just made due.
I blame Gary Neal
Jack's last game as a Spur

The same game where Pop called it a pathetic performance and left quickly after the comment. He was very pissed after the game. And Pop has been pissed in the past for post games but still gave interviews. Jack was inactive for Wednesday's game. I wonder if there was a meltdown before the Hawks game that transpired and Pop just had enough.
I could be grasping for straws though.![]()
Wow. So how about that Miami repeat, eh?

So ...
-TP injured and not playing at 100% since February.
-Manu has two bad hamstrings and might or might not be back at some point in the first round. He hasn't been the same since he started having hamstring trouble -- so expecting anything from him at this point is iffy.
-Diaw out for the first round at best.
-Bonner and Blair healthy as horses.
-Duncan is turning 37.
-No Jack.
-Leonard is gimpy.
-Backup PG still unsettled.
-Neal not 100%.
-Splitter appears to have run out of gas.
-De Colo is either too wild or too passive.
-Mills can't hit a meaningful shot.
-Joseph has hit some sort of sop re wall.
-Green needs players playing well around him to do well.
-Baynes hasn't been added to the fold.
-I'm not 100% convinced Duncan is the same since before The Scare.
*slowly shakes head*
............................................... damn.
I'm pretty sad tbh. Dissapointed, and sad. I was one of Jack's biggest fans and supporters here. But, you gotta do what you gotta do I guess. I don't support it. I mean you know what kind of guy Jack was when you brought him back. While his at ude can be a real negative at times, it was also what made him a damn great teammate. The guy also brought toughness and fight to close playoff games.
So now we're rolling with TP, Manu, and Neal at the guards? And Kawhi and Green at the SF spot or what?
The first round we may be without Manu and without Diaw. So that leaves us with TP and Neal at the guards and Kawhi and Green (?) at the SF spot...
Jackson and Facebook tin all over DesignatedT
