There's no great outcome for Ukraine vs Russia. No matter what, it will be a giant vs a midget with gifted brass knuckles and steel-toes.

The only ones who really benefit from Ukraine fighting the good fight are the military contractors and Europe at large. Russia has burned through every bit of political and economic capital they have on the global and European stage to conduct this war. If they had won in a few days as originally planned, Russia would be in a far stronger position. As is, I don't see a great outcome but Russia won't even think about being aggressive versus NATO nations for the foreseeable future. It's a win for us, but Ukraine is pretty much ed in 5-10 years, max, as far as I can see.
I agree with almost all of this except I dont think its a win for us. I think most of the world has lost other than some Mid Eastern countries who have gained diplomatic status via peace talks and prisoner trades.
All we are doing now imo is mitigating the damage done in trade. Our 3rd largest trading partners, the EU, have suffered. This is not good for us. And our relationships with China has also faltered. When we had to place restrictions on legal trading with certain countries, it inevitably went black market. The restrictions have definitely worked but some of it has been passed off via "flawless capitalism" to other illegal for morals individual companies as it always does.

I am hopeful the Ukrainians destroying more and more energy infrastructure within Russia will lead to some sort of peace with a large buffer zone between Russia and Europe. And agreements not to trash each other. But it will take Putin going away and ... and this is a huge AND... and some other individual(s) with more pragmatism and less longing for the old Soviet Union. Russia, at some point, needs to be integrated back into the worldwide economy.

There's no path to the kind of no compromise "total victory" Putin has put forward time and time again.
Its all in Putin's hands. Not Zelensky.

NATO wont exist in 10 years

    Russia will

Ukraine will most likely be a rump state like the Yugoslavian territories after the breakup

NATO wont exist in 10 years; no need.

Russia will exist as a democratic state and a viable trading partner

Ukraine will most likely also be a sovereign democratic state and a viable trading
Yeah I hope for this also.
    But probably not.

Your need for dictatorships ruling the world makes it seem like you have taken an anal ramming in some dirty prison and become "Stockholmed" in the worst way.
Why do you need to be dominated?

    Almost certainly.
    No way

If u look at the numbers. Fighters killed vs Civilians killed. The Ukraine war is an anomaly. So many fewer civilians have died vs fighters.

Compare that to Iraq war, Syrian war, aafghan war and Lybian war

Not to mention the Israeli war on Gaza.

    Its a ridiculous difference.

I would say about 1 million soldiers have died total on both sides. And only about 100 thousand covilians have died and thats exagerating.

Its a ridiculous difference because both Ukraine and Russia are militarily capable countries you fkn idiot. And that WAS NOT the question cabbage head.

And if you dont believe RUSSIA purposely aims at civilian targets to change the Ukrainian people's will you are a complete idiot.
But then again you dont believe both Assads were/ are butchers who use gas on their own people, and you dont believe Putin tries to poison people.
Keep to your pimple faced high schooler's tweeting.

    Well according to the UN:

As of February 15, 2024, 10,582 civilian deaths in Ukraine were reported by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) due to the Russian invasion that started on February 24, 2022.

I would say in Donbas ,(Russian controlled Ukraine the number is at least 3 times more so 30k)

So thats 40k total by February. Being generous I double that figure to 60k

Thats 60k civilians dead fro. 2022 to 2024.

Thats peanuts compared to about 1 milliondead fighters on both sides

    My statement stands

The TOTAL number of people who have died in the Ukranian-Russia conflict is much, much higher. Its not close.
You want your point to be this:
Many fewer people are involved in the Israeli-Hamas conflict yet the percentages of people who have died is appalling, especially the percentages of Palestinians killed.
The Israelis have basically trapped a whole group of people and are slaughtering them while trying to get at the Hamas leadership and fighters.
And how do we know this with more certainty. The Israeli press is alive and well because it is a democratic country who has voted in power hungry criminal. Sound familiar?

Russia’s ‘overheating’ economy to slow sharply next year, says central bank

Russia’s “overheating” economy will slow sharply next year with interest rates stuck at well above prewar levels until 2027, the Russian central bank has said.

Rapid growth, expected to hit 3.5 to 4 per cent this year, has been driven primarily by strong domestic demand from consumers and the state, which has outpaced supply, the CBR said in its annual report.

It said acute labour shortages and the negative effects of western sanctions were crimping production.

The central bank assessment underscores the challenges facing the Russian economy, despite its better than expected overall performance even with sanctions imposed by the west after Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

The CBR projects economic growth of 0.5 to 1.5 per cent in 2025 and 1 to 2 per cent in 2026, under its baseline scenario. However, longer-term expansion will be limited by “restrictions on technological imports and the outflow of skilled labour”, it warned.

And it’s only going to get worse for the Russians.
Meanwhile Putin will continue to target civilians.
Zelensky has to be careful to avoid civilians. He needs to make daily life suck for Russian civilians via expected comforts. Power, water, then food.

    And the whole thing sux.
Vlad, when you invade a country, think next time. The world is worse off as well. So good for you commie Soviet “don’t give a damn”
