What makes you so sure?
If its true, and i would guess it is, the FO sets different times and dates to make their claims. Then based on what Ive seen on Hills play, the Spurs got him for easy money. Spurs Style. Its only worked a handful of times with this Spurs Style. Manu,TP,Bruce,Drob and even Timmy easily could make tons more. The rest of the names basically have a revolving door. Thats where i see Hill as one of those revolving doors.
Derrick Rose has signed with Chicago for more than one month and they still haven't made a press release about this signing. They are waiting to sign Ben Gordon to make a press release and a press conference with Rose, Deng and Gordon.
Spurs could have done the same thing with Hill but I doubt it. On espn and realgm trade machines, Rose salary is listed while Hill isn't. If Hill has signed with Spurs, it was only few days ago.
I wouldn't doubt that this whole delay was due to the Spurs trying to lowball him and save a few 100k.
Damn i am happy that we got that guy..He will show us some good basketball this year...
The Spurs targeted guard versatility this off season: Mason is a a guy most comfortable playing shooting guard who can play the point if necessary, and Hill is a guy with a 6'9" wingspan who thrived playing the 2 guard in college and showed signs of being able to play the point in pre-draft tournaments and workouts.... if you think about the Spurs' situation, it makes sense-- Parker is their youngest star and the current player who figures to be with them for the most years, even after Tim and Manu are gone, so getting a pure point guard doesn't really make sense. If a pure point guard turns out to be very good-- like Jose Calderon last year with Toronto-- he will naturally want to start at some point, and not be stuck in the depth chart behind Tony. Mason and Hill are both combo guards who can guard PGs and SGs, and who could potentially stick with the Spurs for many years alongside Parker. People here are quick to criticise the FO (despite their ridiculous level of success), but this is another example for me of how smart they are.
Derrick Rose isn't listed as an unsigned draft pick:

Hill is listed as an unsigned draft pick:

Nice. The "tlongII guarantee". We'll try to remember it.
sounds like a bunch of B.S. to me
As it may have been suggested already, the Spurs could have been waiting to see what other signees would be secured and at what rate prior to agreeing to the exact amount of George's contract. Although most 1st-round picks sign for 120% of the scale, George may not be signing for the full 120% in year one. The rule is they can sign for between 80%-120% of the Rookie scale. The 26th pick Rookie scale is $838,500, so the range would be from $670,800 to $1,006,200, or a difference of $335,400.
One way or the other I just want things to get rolling. I thought Hill looked like he belonged, even when he struggled. Solid defense and his mechanics on offense looked good, shots just were not falling.
You're full of .![]()
A quick look back at your last 10-15 posts, Spurs da champs, reveals that you basically have nothing positive to offer to the Forum. I challenge you to bring something worthwhile. You can do it!!!
Jay is "good people".
i seriously hope Hill signs with the Spurs. he sucked on offense in SL but i have faith that he can pick it up.
Well the Nuggets signed Weems, thought you would all be interested in that![]()
What the heck is taking the Spurs FO so long?
dude i dont think this guy is even better than beno udrih
you know when beno gave a damn about playin, he was lights out effective on the court...too bad he had to resort back to the doghouse where free clubbin and hoes was on the menu
I hope this signing will energize Spurs fan base, just as Sarah Palin did for the Republican...

Poor Beno got hung out to dry by TP and Pop. Since Pop couldnt teach TP how to pass the ball, he left the passing up to Beno. And since Beno wasnt gonna listen to Pop anymore. It made no sense to keep the best backup point guard the Spurs have had for TP. With Jacque and all his talent, I guess the Spurs think they are set to make another run.![]()
Excactly my thought as well with that waiting.
Can't wait till the preseason.
If "Hill" is truly your friend, why are you asking idiot? You should be reporting, but since he's NOT your friend it's obvious you're just speculating because your "cousins" (who don't know him either) are reporting to you.
YOU ARE THE ING WORST POSTER I HAVE EVER SEEN.
I don't know if you're some kind of re ed (no offense to re s) troll or what.
You do realize Beno was pathetic towards the end of his tenure with the Spurs. Out of all the things the Spurs did I would not fault them for getting rid of Beno. The guy was ing rubbish out there on the court for us. Like TimVP said the only think you might be able to fault them on was not trading him sooner when his stock was higher.
Its all good Ice009......I dont take anything personal. And Im always right. Life is good. Beno is still better then Hill and Jacque.
where did the guy go who used to call Vaughn the "garbage truck"?
