Once again, how were SAN ANTONIO tax payers made to pay this.

No one was arguing that it shouldn't have been built (were they?), just that San Antonio residents didn't have to pay. Yes, we did.

Here's the way to look at it, that tax could've been used for something else in the county.

    Like building another albatross dome?
Or maybe to bus the bums to another city like houston?

Sounds to me like the citizens of SA are being a little cheap.

...by giving the Spurs all revenues from the operation of that arena? Um ok.

So you didn't want the Spurs here? Ok.

Why is that desperate? If the deal didn't go through, Anaheim and St. Louis were ready with built arenas and larger markets. The sweet arena deal made it easy to stay. More delay and demanding more from the Spurs wouldn't work.

Look, I was responding to this comment from TPark:

Once again, how were SAN ANTONIO tax payers made to pay this.
I explained how. Notice that I didn't say that I thought the arena deal should have been voted down.

    Duh.

On what? And how would the SBC been paid for?

    Explain yourself.

Again, TPark asked how taxpayers gave up something for it. I explained how.

    So you have no point.

And you have nothing to back up yours.

    If that was a point.

    Apparently it was not.

The arena deal was a fait accompli -- the county was the first en y to realize it.

Are you really this dense? TPark asks how taxpayers gave up something by allowing for the 'tourist tax' to be used. Obviously those tax collections generated by the tax could have been put to some other use if not used for the SBC.

I don't see how this explanation means that I have to personally take the position that I did not want the SBC deal.

Go get drunk. You need it.

If I'm not mistaken, the tax was a new one specifically for the SBC, so that's a very weak point to make.

Doesn't matter. That taxing authority could have been used for something else, so the taxpayers did indeed give up something. As for weakness I'd say that is an apt description for the last few posts of yours.

Go get drunk. You need it if you are this desperate.

    Sure it does.

I understand you're just playing devil's advocate here, but what else? Did folks protest in the streets with signs that said "something else" or did they actually have an item or two?

All I was doing was answering a question and you popped in with your ever burning desire to argue pedantic points. Go drink, smoke, , exercise, surf, or whatever else will relieve the stress you currently face.

    Thanks.

All I was doing was answering a question
and being quite misleading about it. Don't be a pussy when you are called on it.

You deal with stress rather poorly.
