I can't prove what he actually believes--he may be a Buddhist or an atheist for all we know--but I'm not the one saying that he is a Muslim. Well, in the last 50 or so years, all assassination attempts and assassinations were carried out by leftists. I'd say the chances are larger for McCain to be assassinated if elected rather than Obama. However, I don't know how to put in the left leaning racists into the equation. I only know it is unlikely a right leaning person will attempt an assassination. More criminal activity of most or all types are committed by lefties over righties.
Oh yea, I forgot about the attempts against Clinton and Carter. They are assumed attempts, not well proven.

Its a real possibility because there are still many bigots in this country that will be opposed to having a black president. And still others who are ignorant enough to believe Obama is a Muslim terrorist.
Obama may also have an overall appeal similar to Robert and John F Kennedy and that can play into fueling intense anger in some.
Being a bad and unpopular president has nothing to do with being assassinated, Bush is an example of that.

American president always was and always will be a popular assasination target no matter who he is.
But the level of security nowadays is so high that it is close to impossible to do it.
And even if it succeds.... what do you achieve by it? Almost nothing because u have a VP behind him and others who could stand in that have practicaly the same policy.
