It really doesn't matter who is President, or how "polarizing" he is; all it takes is one kook. , even Gerry Ford lived through an assassination attempt.
This was brought up on another forum I frequent. I never really thought about it until today. I just don't see it happening in our country today, not unless Obama becomes a very decisive and polarizing President which I don't think he will be.

Well with McCain saying he is a terrisist I think it makes it a tad bit more of a chance.

I didn't think there was any greater chance of Obama getting assassinated than any former President. That is, until I watched those videos of McCain supporters calling the guy a terrorist, an Arab (like it's a bad thing), a Muslim, and that he should be killed. That's some scary .
Why can't we all just get along.

If it was going to happen it would have when he was running heads up against Team Clinton.
I mean there's always a chance that some guy will attempt it...that's the case for any President though.

I actually think the possibility is terrifyingly real and have for some time. And the political repercussions are equally frightening. That's why Hillary's comments about RFK being assassinated struck such a chord with Obama supporters, and why Palin's recent comments have likewise riled them up. It all stokes the fire for some nutjob to take things into his own hands, and many (African-Americans especially) have feared that from the beginning.
So much hate for the right. Where/why did you develop this?
Also, saying "they cling to their guns and religion"...he's pretty much instigating an assassination attempt with that dumbass remark.
