TRADE DECLINED
Due to Sacramento and Philadelphia being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Sacramento and Philadelphia had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did not happen here (only Sacramento met the condition). This trade does not satisfy the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

It's a gamble, but the Sixers didn't even have to give up Dalembert. I think it's safe to say who wanted it more.
Call me crazy, but I don't see C-Webb and Iverson meshing all that well. Webber is not a back to the basket player, and demands the ball facing the basket. AI operates on the perimeter, and needs the ball to be effective.
I read the article, OK, so this was a move to try and keep Peja happy, but no WAY did the Kings get the better deal. A healthy Webber is still the best defensive option out there, with Christie gone. This will send the Kings back to being a first round playoff exit. Peja is not franchise player material.
Hey, at least Webber will be able to find a soul food joint in Philly...
timvp, I gotta disagree.
Skinner sucked in college...[b]at Baylor[\b]. Thomas can play some nights, but it's a crapshoot. He was much better as a Rocket. Corliss, a former King, occupies his own zip code...but is averaging 10 a game or so.
Not worth Webber, in my opinion.
Elvis won't be the only King in Las Vegas.
Agreed. When I first heard C-Webb to Philly, I said it has to be Dalembert.
Amazed that Sac didn't ask for him.
I also wonder how CWebb and AI will mesh. I think AI will be happy to have some solid help for ONCE in his career. But I could see there being some problems. if they can work it out, they'll be HOT.
Webber hasn't played defense this decade.A healthy Webber is still the best defensive option out there, with Christie gone.
I'm sure they asked....Agreed. When I first heard C-Webb to Philly, I said it has to be Dalembert.

Yeah, but C-Webb is not a selfish player, and doesn't dominate the ball.
And clearly, AI will be the go-to guy in crunch time, which is how they both would want it.
I think it will be a good match.
Truer words might never have been spoken. I bet C-Webb still has nightmares calling timeout with alumni waving $100's in his face. And clearly, AI will be the go-to guy in crunch time, which is how they both would want it.
Living in Philly = with the 76ers my second favorite team LOVE this trade.
One thing is that Miller seemed to step up with Webber gone, but I also cannot see how you can trade a guy that has had several recent triple doubles for what they got back.
I lived in WI last year and Skinner was with the Bucks, he plays hard but in not a major talent, Thomas has been up and down all year and Williamson is an inconsitent hard nose type but a little under-sized.
I simply cannot see why the Kings could not of got more than this???
Skinner has some game. He played well at the end of last season on the Bucks. Kenny Thomas could be a monster in Sac's offensive scheme which has the bigmen as the passers and decision makers. Corliss Williamson provides a bench player for the team with the worst bench in the league. The Kings weren't winning any championship and Webber is broken down ... they can now build around Peja, Bibby and Miller.
Plus they get three nice players to add to the mix. I like.
Defenses will now have to actually guard someone on the post, instead of guarding whichever side of the basket Iverson is on.
Webber plays like he has no knees and is perhaps the worst defending big man in the league.
This forum has highly overrated him.
Webber's basically a role player whose been averaging damn close to a triple double for the past two weeks.
He can go rebound, throw some passes here and there, and get offensive putbacks off AI's misses.
Philly just became the team that nobody wants to play in the East come post-season.
I think Corliss will probably be the odd man out of the rotation. Thomas/Songaila at PF and Skinner beating out Ostertag as backup C.
I see where you're going here. Thomas as like a 3rd option after Peja and Bibby makes (a little) sense. Corliss off the pine does too. I can even follow where you're headed with Skinner. But are these three guys worth Webber, scoring 20 a game? I don't think so, and to me it sounds like Philly definitely came out ahead in the deal.Skinner has some game. He played well at the end of last season on the Bucks. Kenny Thomas could be a monster in Sac's offensive scheme which has the bigmen as the passers and decision makers. Spurminator, C-Webb doesn't have much of a post game anymore. He's almost strictly a jump shooter.
IMO, Webber will turn into another Glenn Robinson for the Sixers. He'll be a dead weight contract before too much longer.
WOW! I am speechless. If this doesn't get people around here to stop talking football and the damn Eagles, I don't know what will!
Weird trade though, never saw it coming. I didn't even know we were looking at C WEBB. Kenny Thomas will be missed though.
I think you've underrated him, let's meet somewhere in the middle![]()
