Could have.... Should have....
Man U666 this one is pretty weak. We're used to better takes from you.
Geographically speaking Slovenia does lie (at least its largest part) on the Balkan peninsula, which in fact makes it part of the Balkans. There is no need to be ashamed of that fact since how can you be ashamed of geography?
Of course in our parts of the world the word Balkan is synonymous with cursing, betrayal and de able behavior, but it has nothing to do with its location and all to do with its people, so if you do not want to be part of that Balkan just behave accordingly and do not be offended by a mere geographical term.
Could have.... Should have....

No, were used to his Rasho bashing.
BUT HES NOT BASHING RASHO!!!!
Whatever. Amazing how Rasho is the only one I see him critisized.
If Rasho plays normal minutes last night VS Yao, Yao gets about 10 or 12 points instead of 19.
So when Pop goes "Serbian" on the players at halftime, is that similar to going "Balkan" on them?
BTW, I still love Rasho, even though he didn't take it strong to the cup. He played excellent D.![]()
What is wrong with that take? I said he played good, but he needs to finish those types of plays with authority. That barely went in and it could be the type of play that haunts the Spurs in the playoffs. There is no reason why he couldn't have stuffed it.
I'm not calling him soft for not showing flash or power, I'm saying that not taking it strong to the hole in that situation is the same thing as not boxing out for a board. It is a mental mistake.
T Park, you must be dizzy from riding the T Cup ride, because I did complement Rasho's performance. It was the first thing I said.
Unrelated: T Mass sucked terribly! The fans were about to rush the court and drag him off!
Let Rasho be Rasho!

Let me explain something to you Solid.
You know how you say: big, bigger, biggest?
Well it's the same here: Angry, Balkan, Serbian
Actually what's the correct way od saying it? Balkanese? Balkanian? Balky?
balky?

rasho's weak needs to dissappear in the playoffs. he might as well start now. glad the shot went in. otherwise overall solid effort.
Yeah, stop making shots Rasho, its not "manly"
T Cup ride User??? Gotta break out the Sequ smack.
Hilarious.....
I was at the game and if i recall someone(maybe Mitumbo) cam over to block the shot and rasho was going at the basket at an odd angle. I think that might have been why he through up the floater. With the angle he was at he did not have a lot of Momentum to go through someone if needed.
Much better! In your other post you were refering to the Suns game which was not even close so your speculations were weak. Now you refer to the play-offs where things could be much closer. I still think that it's a bit of a stretch to blame any loss on a single play but at least now I understand your point.
Miller's flat-footed, soft put-in to tie (viciously swatted away by Amare) vs Suns @ARCO is a good example where softness cost Kings a chance to win in OT.
Seems to be some difference of opinion about the reason for the shot taken. At least one poster says M'tumbe was coming for the block. Most say there was a wide open lane to dunk. Can both be right? I think so.
so in a fraction of a second, Rasho made a decision to float one high, and some folks don't like that. OK, but apparently he made 75% right decisions last night on the other three shots. I note that there were some other players who shot a worse percentage such as Devin and Bowen. What about their shot selection?
Can't we ever cut these guys, OUR TEAM, some slack and enjoy a win without trying to find some little thing to hit them with? I don't know of anyone who ever played a perfect game.
Some stats from last game.
If you only look at performance of Ming and Rasho when they were on the floor together, you get some interesting numbers.
Yao Ming: 5 points (2/4 FG), 1 rebound, 0 blocks
Rasho: 8 points (4/4 FG), 3 rebounds, 3 blocks
Kind of like people from Louisiana, huh?
That's pretty funny. I bet very few (if anyone) in the US realized that.
Although we do know that you guys historically fight a of a lot.

Rasho was 4-4 and you still complain !?!?!?
Devin was 1-7 and I don't find any threads about that!
even Duncan can't dunk always.
I was at the game too and from my angle no one was near him. He threw the floater up while the defender was coming from the side. It's not as though he was taking the floater like Parker does over a bigger player. When the crowd saw the pass going to him, and he being so wide open, everyone kinda "gasped". Like 5 people around me yelled, "DUNK THE BALL RASHO!!!"
Like I said, he had a good game. He played good defense on Yao. Especially good compared to T Mass who played terribly. I'm not asking for Rasho to showboat, I just don't want him to "Slowboat"!
The NBA.com box score is different from the stats displayed on the SBC jumbotron. Rasho had 5 boards listed the while NBA.com lists only 3.
Brown didn't play all that well. He did drive a lot and draw fouls. He also had 5 assists. He was 0-3 fro the arc and 3-5 from the line.
That looks like a recent map and even it is wrong since Yugoslavia does not exist anymore. It just shows you how difficult it is to keep track.
The problem with the Balkans is that so many invaders, religions and armies have passed over it on their ways from europe to the middle east (and back) wreaking havoc and creating really deep seeded hatred among the local nations.
So when you mention that we fight a lot that's the least of our problems. A bigger problem is that many empires and military unions from outside the region chose to fight each other in the Balkans, adding to the already explosive mixture.
Slovenia has had the dubious privilege of have been occupied by more "civilised" invaders and by a lesser number of those. Because of a much less varied ethnic population our history is less burdened by ancient tribal rivalry. That is why many Slovenians feel we are not really part of the Balkan states.
Anyway it's a subject for really big history books and even if you read them all, chances are they would create more questions than answers.
Can't say or explain better!
ing Slovakians![]()
I think the map has "Yugoslavia" on it just for historical reference. The legend in the corner clearly states that it is the "former Yugoslavia".
I don't know if you guys know this, but we actually have a word in English:
balkanize: To divide (a region or territory) into small, often hostile units.
That is why we are trading for him today.
I did not know about balkanize - funny!
No, you are wrong. The way that the states are drawn there was a state called Yugoslavia composed of Serbia, Montenegro, Vojvodina and Kosovo. Before that together with the other states it used to be former Yugoslavia aka Socialist republic of Yugoslavia. Now (today) there is no state anywhere that bares the name of Yugoslavia - it has been replaced by Serbia & Montenegro. As I said it's not easy to keep up![]()
You're right. I wasn't even paying attention to the map colors.
What we need is an up-to-date map, and then put pictures in each country their NBA players.
Yea I could not tell where the defender was coming from, I was on the opposite baseline and about 30 roows from the floor. . My point was that maybe rasho thought the defender was going to get there in time and reacted. Although it may have been a bad reaction, atleast it went in.
