Going back to Robinson's rookie season, that's 19 out of 20 years in the playoffs, and 18 years with at least 47 victories plus the 37-13 record in 98-99. Two decades near the top of your sport is quite remarkable.
The Gervin era was pretty nice too...it was about a 10 year period and they only had 1 losing record in that time.

Basically going back all the way to the 1967-68 season which is the first year of the team, the Spurs have had only 8 losing seasons in 41 years and half of them came in the span of years between the tail end of Gervin's career(his final season) and the beginning of Robinson's career...they actually made the playoffs during one of those losing seasons too IIRC...maybe more.

The Spurs are the best franchise in sports. Period. Great city, great team, great management, great culture.

I wasn't around for the early years, but from the moment I started watching basketball, I knew that this team was different. Tim and Pop are a big reason why. They go out there, take care of business and then go home. No words, no flash, just consistency and excellence.

    Go Spurs Go.

Just great to accomplish excellence at such a consistent level. This is also one of the reasons why in my opinion Tim Duncan is the best player in this league over the past decade.

To give that streak -- 50 or more wins in 10 consecutive seasons -- a little more perspective, there are at least 19 franchises in the NBA that over the course of their existence have had 10 or fewer seasons with 50 wins or more:

    DAL - 10
    SEA/OKC - 10
    ATL - 9
    HOU - 9
    PRT - 9
    DEN - 8
    IND - 8
    SAC - 7
    CLE - 6
    MIA - 6
    ORL - 5
    WAS - 5
    GST - 4
    MIN -4
    NJ - 4
    CHA/NO - 4
    MEM - 1
    LAC - 0
    TOR - 0

We take 50+ wins for granted in San Antonio -- the Spurs have had 21 seasons with at least 50 wins (and would have another with extrapolation for 1999). But getting to the 50 win plateau is hardly a given for most of the NBA.
