Um, he missed half a season with a stress fracture in his foot.
Well, knock on wood, he hasn't had many problems with his feet.Nazr's feets disagree
Um, he missed half a season with a stress fracture in his foot.
how long ago.
Plus, wasn't it just a one time thing?!?!?!?!
No. He had foot surgery and missed the beginning of the 2002-03 season. Then came back in December but by March, he had to have another surgery for another stress fracture on the same foot.
hmm.
Well hes made it through almost two years, maybe its fixed.
Either way, Chandler is a FA and I dont think hes signing here.
What part of back problems don't you guys get? Tyson's destined to get hit by the same problems as Smith (and our own DRob).
I know Drob had back problems his entire career but honestly, was a player that good that much of a problem????
Chandler's a RFA i think.
S&T is what i believe they're talking about here.
Back problems ended David's career. They'll end Chandler's too (albeit at a much younger age).
I think you need to take a look back at that draft and see the other guys on that list. Would you have taken a healthy reggie instead? no. Scottie Pippen? No. His back injuries in the big picture were a minor detail. Besides. Out of that list the only names i recognised that played last year were Scottie (we all know how that turned out), Reggie, Horace Grant, and Mark Jackson.
The only one to play legitamate minutes and games was Reggie Miller.
Talent > Back issues
The question should be is how much better is Chandler than Nazr.
He's not. Next.
What good does Tyson Chandler do the Spurs in four years if he's retired?
And finally, comparing Tyson to any of those guys is laughable. He's still raw and underdeveloped. The question is can that talent be developed and taken advantage of before his back goes goodbye.
Don't you have a lotto to get ready for Sick?
Bird's back was screwed from 83 on, but he's the toughest mother to ever play the game. Still, it made him one of the worst defenders in the league. David still had some excellent years after his injury in 96, but he was never the same player after and I honestly can't see Chandler just sucking it up and taking the shot the way David did twice in that 2002 series vs LA.
When did Pippen mess his back up? I thought it was in 98, and he was a s of himself after that season.
David did NOT have back problems his whole career. They started in 1996, when he played in the Olympics with a hernia. Trying to compensate for that (he never should have played), he injured his back. He was truly never the same after that.
A little late, but I'd just like to say...
No.
I would change Nazr and Barry for Tyson...
....Mike Tyson![]()
