I was being sarcastic... but nevertheless, like all the other spurs fans I have high hopes for Mahinmi

TP said at half-time of ASVEL-Nancy that Splitter is not coming before 2010.
So he believes Ian will have a chance to show what he can do.
He also said the Spurs are looking for an athletic SF who can shoot. Of course he didn't give any name.
He said Batum could have been that SF.
That the team needs to get younger.
That the Spurs have a shot at a championship with Duncan/Gino/TP in the next 2/3 seasons.
I think that is all

Splitter's likely not coming this year as long as TAU can make payroll. Considering all the financial problems they've been having, they'll probably end up selling him off for cheap. Just wait and see.
In your opinion, that doesn't make it fact.
Why don't you go to the Bourousis thread in the think tank section. As you can see plenty of Euro fans think the same.
Well good news is Ian, if he can stay healthy, will get his shot. I remember the same scenario was set up for Bonner going into this year. Duncan/Parker/Pop all said that with Horry gone, Bonner would get his chance to step up.
He did a pretty good job all things considered (except in the playoffs) and hopefully Ian can come in and perform just as good. He certainly fills a need.
i understand your point and agree with you about bonner overall, but this is a damn big except.
The PO are all that matters for the spurs. the question is: did bonner and mason play poorly because of outside reasons (bad shape, bad luck, bad matchup...) or is their ability to perform in the big stage in question ?
The difference between Bowen and Mason is that Mason has stepped up in the playoffs before. If he has a full season where he doesn't have to face the crushing humiliation of playing point guard and does the same thing again, I'll brand him a playoff choker. Mase gets a pass until then.
EDIT ^^^^^^^^^ Yes I typed the wrong name. See below.
Well Bonner you can assume will not perform in the playoffs, especially in the role he was given (although he did do a good job defensively). Bonner, as many have stated, should not have been starting and guarding all NBA 1st team players.
Mason, I have seen perform in the playoffs and hit big shots in the regular season. He was taken out of his role by Pop and misused and I think he can perform in the playoffs.
Ian will be different with regards to expectations (although not in some Spurs fans minds). He will be brought in for the purpose of defense, rebounding and running the floor. Also, he is not expected to be a starter.
You are welcome.
Yeah, what a dumbass. I can't believe I did that.Sometimes my fingers type faster than my brain works, and I don't type all that fast.

At least you know I am paying attention to your posts!
I hate to say it again, but imagine if the Spurs plan of Tiago and Ian playing this last year together would have come to fruition.
Spurs would have been young and athletic in a hurry at a tough position to do it at.
who cares, the last thing we need is a soft white center who lacks athleticism.
jesus christ
If you want to play what ifs, throw in Jackie Butler to that mix, because you know what that would mean.
Except he's neither you know nothing dumb .
When did Mason step up in the playoffs? His teams have never advanced past the first round and I don't recall him doing anything special in those series...
To his defense, he played with the Wizards.
Thats all that needs to be said.
He didn't play with them this year and was far worse on, what should have been, a better team around him...that says alot.
that if his comin in 2010, we have what 10m in free capspace, not worth spending it on unproven rookie for nba....splitter aint worth whats his askn price is, when his unproven in the nba stage....
TAU has serious financial problems. They'll probably offer to completely tile the AT&T Center, free of charge, if the Spurs take Splitter off their hands.
Has anyone else heard about their financial trouble? I think I'm the first to mention it.
Watch out KBP will be in here in 3...2..1.
