All signs point to Hill being the backup PG, but I wouldn't be surprised if they go out and get a vet.

I'm pretty sure between TP and Hill can fill out the position just fine.
The debate is who's the third PG if one of them go down.
And, as I said in another thread, I suspect Pop still thinks Mason is that 3rd string PG.

When do you bring in McClinton ?
starts for Austin. barring the need for him via injury, you give him a year to season and - if he's ready - he plays Mason's role in 2010-11.

I think Hill should be the guy.

I wouldn't mind the Spurs picking someone up like Bobby Jackson in the Vaughn role though. Obviously not the same defense but can run the team and hit the 3 ball. Still can get to the basket as well.

Manu, Mason, and Hill can all handle the ball when Parker is out. McClinton is more of a shooter than a Ball handler.

Although I'd love to see Hill as backup PG, I'm gonna go with Pop handing those duties to Mason.

According to Newman, it looks like Hill has the backup PG job. It sounds like they fully expect Hill to be the backup PG.
