I don't think either the Mavs or Spurs care who is the most talented team. Show it on the court.
I giggle-farted a little, I'll admit.

True. Mavs look better on paper.
my exact words were "why the fvck is Pop putting Lil richard in the game....what the fvck is he thinking...I was hoping I would never see this fvcking guy again......goddammit POP!!!!!
Not really, like Findog has been saying Dallas has the best player in the series, but 2/3/4/5 have all been Spurs players.
mavs better on paper but spurs play as a team
Mason has talent but is having a spasm of his confidence these days.
Mavs potentially could be better but reality is, except for Dirk, statistically, they suck all- around.
I'd say that none of the 2-8 seeds in the west are clearly better any of the others..
Yeah, if Haywood and Butler were that great, there's no way the Wizards would have traded them. They were on a team headed for the lottery without Arenas. So this idea that they are this great players on paper is silly.
Sure they are deep with quality players. But they have one superstar and maybe one borderline all star (Terry) and the rest are just good players (Haywood, Butler), or as is more often the case, great players four years past their prime and in a direct downward decline (Kidd, Marion).
Not Clearly Better and the games must be played.
Ok, without getting into the bench... If I'm picking a starting 5 out of a pool of Spurs / mavs players based on their current playing, Dirk is the only mav that makes it. If I pick 10, it's probably close to 50/50 but 4 of the top 5 are Spurs.
to win a championship:
PG: Kidd
SG: Manu
SF: Butler
PF: Dirk
C: Duncan
Not saying that's a bad team but how can you leave Parker off when he has won 3 championships with two of those players? Without an up-tempo team, I don't think Kidd makes sense.
None of the 2 squads are championship teams right now, so who really cares what TheTicket thinks....
sayeth the team about to be eliminated
Spurs are more talented on paper. Mavs have more impressive depth, but the Spurs have more "primetime" talent with the Big 3.
On paper the Spurs were projected to be the 2nd best team in the West this year.
And they very well may be right now.
