He didn't have the injury in the 2008-2009 playoffs and he missed all his shots then too.
Without having any expertise on medical issues, it sounds like the Spurs doctors told Mason that he can play with the injury without further damaging the hand. Of course we all know how the results worked out.

I'm really not suprised he's been having hand problems for the 2nd half of the season, due to his shooting slump.
What I am suprised of is why Pop immediately played him the following game or 2 after he tore his ligament, and continued to do so as the season and playoffs progressed.
I know I need a head doctor right about now! Just give me brains at least & hour. With a big ass, a ponytail I can pull, & some heels on. Why the heels u ask!?! Idk, It jus sounds & look sexy when a hoe wearing em while givin you brains!
that's what i said![]()
Trying to boost free agent stock . . .
Mason is lame. Now trying to explain why he sucks so bad.
I'm sure he's having hand surgery just to boost his free agency. Might as well scope his knees as well, that might get him even more money.
I know. I was just expounding on your post.
Agreed. The fact that he was lobbying for a trade or playing time suggests he was the one pushing for playing time not the organization. He probably thought he could play through it. Noble.
Stupid, but noble.
beat you to it, timvp
Who cares? He sucked before the injury, too. We all knew he had the torn ligament, but he and the Spurs agreed to let him keep playing, and like others have said, there's no way he has surgery during the season and has to sit out during a contract year.
Beat you to it, tooI think someone probably beat me to it, as well.
Not too hard to read imbetween the lines on this one.
oh man, you're right! I didn't see your post before I originally posted... oh well, I'm too slow as usual.Beat you to it, tooI think someone probably beat me to it, as well.

Gotta keep your head on a swivel around these parts.![]()

Maybe he can get a heart transplant while he's at it.
He sucked before dating back to the playoffs and he still sucks.
The guy sucks in all phases of the game.
By far the most horrible Spur I've seen in the past decade. Most over-hyped Spur coming into this year.
I'd take Shawnelle Scott over him. At least Shawnelle knows his limits offensively and doesn't try to put the ball on the floor for an easy 2 the other way.
The Hegelian dialectic analysis:
Thesis -- Mason wants to excuse his poor shooting for pending free agency.
An hesis -- The Spurs didn't want to lose a guy to rehab that they had no use for past this season.
Synthesis -- The Spurs medical staff is not particularly astute (as the Mahinimi fans claim)?
so he says. now. after a dreadful year, and no prospects for next year. i think rather than an injured hand, he has an aggressive agent.
What's sad is he probably shot himself out of the NBA.
Spurs medical staff is as good as it gets. So forget that as any reason or synthesis or whatever the you want to call it.
congrats, mason tricked u
