I have a question. Does this year's draft fall under the current CBA? If it does, look for a FLOOD of HS declarees to try to slip in before the age limit, and some stupid picks to be made.

ex, yes, it's already happening. Lots of players, like Bracey Wright and high schoolers, applying for the draft who have no business there. A lot of fear about a new CBA, making this potentially a deeper draft than most.

Deeper = more teams up front making stupid decision on "potential" with better players sifting down.

I can't think of a time the Spurs tried to move up in the draft.
Supposedly, they tried to move up in 2001 to pick Parker at 15, but Orlando balked. I think it was the same front office that tried to steal Duncan, and they were in no mood to help us out. They picked Steven Hunter, currently blowing game winning dunks as a poor backup in Phoenix.

Spurs are more likely to trade our first round pick for 2 seconds than to try and move up, IMO.

    Who's Robert Swift?

I think those days are over now that they are over the cap for at least the next 6 years.

I could see us bundling our first rounder and whatever second rounders and stashed Euro player rights necessary to move up into the mid-teens to grab a SF.

    Potential targets:

    Antoine Wright
    Joey Graham
    Charlie Villanueva
    Warrick
    Gomes
    Nemanja Aleksandrov

    Charlie Villanueva
That would be a "decent" pickup.

I just want to see us grab a long three (or at least someone who can match up with the Marions, Rashards, Tmacs of the world).

We're set at point, set at the 2, got plenty of depth on the front line if Scola comes in, we just need another tall three.

I've heard the Spurs have tried to move up several times over the past few years. I remember reading how the Spurs were interested in moving up to get Josh Smith last year and Kendrick Perkins a couple of years ago.

Are you serious? Swift is already considered by many as the biggest bust of last years draft. I guess his little brother couldn't really be worse.

RtD Jasikavicious (sp?) the euroleague MVP is a free agent and not in the draft. The draft is for young players not 30 odd point guards that were never really given a shot in the league.

What nation will we tap this year?
    Finland?
    Latvia?
    Cuba?
