I beleive we still have the ever famous
28th pick
I'm confused b/c I've read in a few posts that we have a 1st RD pick for this yr's upcoming Draft, but I thought we traded away all our 1st RD picks in the Malik/Nazr trade?
I ask b/c I would love for the Spurs to some how be able to land Hakim Warrick (Syracuse) by either trading up a few spots or him landing @ our spot. Kid is a special player who I see blossoming in the Spurs system @ both ends of the court.
I beleive we still have the ever famous
28th pick

The draft picks acquired are San Antonio’s 2006 conditional first-round selection and Phoenix’s conditional 2005 first-round selection originally acquired by the Spurs on Jun. 26, 2003 (in exchange for the draft rights to Leandro Barbosa). Therefore, the Spurs should have their own 2005 selection in the first round.
Who wouldn't want Hakim but he'll go pretty high, I would think. He's really an unusual player in that he is a SF-shot blocker. Does he have the consistent outside shot to play SF in the NBA?
Sorry didn't see your post, SA butta.
no problem but we are still 28th right?
yeah we do
we should try and get some 7'0'' 18 year old, weak as thispego, 160 lb foreign kid who's not clearly a SG SF PF or C, who can shoot but cant play defense or rebound at all and has contract issues with a european team and will take 3 years to even get a shot at the nba
no no wait
thats what other teams will do
we should try and get a 22 year old SF or C with 4 years college experience who's strong and can rebound and play defense who can play next year
check out these mock drafts
full of anyways but fun to look at

Since the Knicks got the 2005 PHX selection in the trade for Rose, wouldn't that be funny if San Antonio selected the guy the Knicks wanted, just ahead of the Knicks.
With Francisco Garcia being from the Bronz if we select him that could very well be what happens. I dont know how accurate those mocks are but I would take Garcia or Turiaf in a heart beat.
That would make for one crazy team if the Spurs drafted Turiaf.
Spurs should get Ronny Turiaf for sure.
Don't the Spurs have their eye on Krzyglophimous Javltjyczermis from Uzbekistan?
I thought it was his twin brother, Joe Javltjyczermis.![]()
tried to post pic but didnt come out nevermind
Most Mock drafts have Hakim Warrick falling in the mid teens, @ 6'8'' 220, he could be our Bowen of the future with OFF!
Thanks guys for responding & answering my question. I wouldn't mind Garcia either, nice playa. Don't know squat about Turiaf, is he any good? Info, pics?
um french post player for gonzaga
not too big , he might be good
I'd love it if Garcia fell to us, though I have doubts about his NBA future. He has talent, to be sure, and is a versatile player, if possibly a bit slight for the SF. He's passionate about winning but laid an egg his last game in the tournament. An offense that takes pressure off him might help.
I'm sure more will be said about Turiaf but he's a countryman of Tony's and he is an incredible energy on the floor. He's got long arms and can block shots. He's athletic and he's very physical.
I doubt he lasts past Seattle.
I am a huge Syracuse fan (Uva is never in it) and have watched this kid (warrik) since he had been a frenshman, and his lack of a jumper should make the transition to NBA player very difficult. I love th eguy, but i have my doubts.
I really wanted the Spurs to get a chance at Danny Granger, my boy from New Mexico, but he's projected anywhere from 11 to 17.
Too bad we can't get him. He'll be the next Scottie Pippen, write it down now.
package up this pick and Javtokas, and get down to 12 13 or 14.
I doubt that will get you up there.package up this pick and Javtokas, and get down to 12 13 or 14.
But I'd love to see the Spurs try and do that for a guy like Danny Granger.
Just a pipe-dream, I know. I can't think of a time the Spurs tried to move up in the draft.
It would answer the "Who's eventually going to replace Bruce?" question quite soundly though.
