Now, I might not be even right on whether it was Bill Walton that said that...Dan said who it was not paying attention until I heard TD's name.....it was some tv announcer, it could have been someone else like SAS or Greg Anthony, although I doubt it.

You know I only take up for the other side because you guys can never give any credit to anyone if they are compared to Tim Duncan. We could sit here all day talking about how great Bill Russell was but the moment someone says he's better than Tim Duncan the es come out of the wood work....

I think we can all agree that Bill Russell> TD

Once TD gets his 11th ring though, then let's talk again.

How did this become about bill russel? Amare is a very 1 dimensional player with inflated numbers this year.

So did Derrick Coleman's and he was never a great player, despite putting up 20/10 over a long career. Although some great players put up stats, stats don't make the player great. His effort level is lacking. How does someone of that size and athleticism average less than nine rebounds a game over the course of three seasons? He's a pretty crappy post defender, too. He made Erick Dampier look like Shaq in the post for game 2. Until he's ready to do the dirty work, and not just run out on the break, he won't be a great player.

    Solid post, Usul.

And PM5k, you have to realize that field goal percentage goes up when you are given the ball in such a time and place so that all you have to do is dunk it.

Also, points go up when you play with the best point guard in the game.

If Steve Nash played on the spurs, do you think Duncan's field goal percentage and points would go up or down?

    exactly.

Was asked to comment on the comment that Stoudemire is on same level as Tim Duncan and Shaq.
Amare is 2nd team all-NBA, not first team.

If we were comparing KG to Tim Duncan, or comparing Shaq to Duncan, or comparing Karl Malone to Duncan, I could see your point. Comparing someone, while very talented, that has played 2 1/2 years in the NBA to Duncan and then suggesting that people that scoff are just homers is ridiculous.
