I'm kind of interested in C.A.S. Wouldn't mind watching a CAS event somewhere.
A place to Shoot has a couple of skeet ranges.
I'm pretty sure NSC is open to the public. I've just shot sporting clay tournaments there though and don't shoot there on a regular basis.

have you ever participated in it, or watched an event?
seems like it would be right up your alley![]()
I've thought about it but haven't done it. So far just had too many things on my plate. Maybe when I get old LOL. I've actually met some of the members here and liked them. I've got a octagonal barrel model 1873 Winchester ( my Great Grandfathers) that would be perfect.
If I got into it, I would have to go the replica route.
I would on pistols. My dad had a beautiful second generation colt SAA 45 long colt with a 5 1/2" barrel that he let one of my sleazy ex brother-in-laws talk him out of. I just found that out a couple months ago and was furious.
do they use cap & ball pistols in CAS, or just cartridge pistols, or both?
I have an Uberti replica of the Colt Dragoon... its huge and weighs a ton, but its fun to load and shoot. Wouldn't want to do any kind of compe ion with it though. A few more replicas I would want would be maybe an 1858 Rem, 1851 Navy, and a Colt SAA.
my shooting buddy has an original 1851 Navy. Not sure if it's shootable though.
