simple blame the parents for leaving a loaded gun around the house,
ban 9 year olds!!!
What is sad is this could have been prevented.
yeah, so, and? people die every day. what makes this kid so special he gets his own thread on spurstalk?
mom always said, dont shoot guns in the house
I absolutely agree.
But as far as no charges being filed, doesn't California have a Child Access Prevention Law?
my kid knows all about gun safety, and proper handling... ever since he was 8. He has been to the range with me hundreds of times since then.
"I'm pretty sure he was gonna be the next Hitler"
those god damn video games
Accidentally shot someone...I don't care how old you are, if you do that...if you were any slower you'd be going backwards
Im pro 2nd amendment, but I think the last thing a kid needs is to be taken to a gun range. Why not chuck e cheese. A theme park. Something "kiddie". I'm no parent but that's where my priorities would be. I'd just have a gun safe, but that's me and I'm all for guns.
America's gun culture is a disgrace, and is a very pure and unequivocal statement of our vast collective stupidity.
a mixture would be best. My kid used to be taken to schlitterbahn, fiesta tx, Mr Gattis, etc, etc, as well as trips to the local shooting ranges.Im pro 2nd amendment, but I think the last thing a kid needs is to be taken to a gun range. Right on!
Those places are okay, but a shooting range is more like a field trip, wouldn't you say? Fun and educational. Spending a day skeet shooting has been one of the most enjoyable, wholesome outtings I ever had as a kid and with my own kids as well.
something I've never done, at least officially. Way back when, my buddies threw some clay discs with one of those hand held throwers, and I nailed them ok.
don't have a shotgun anymore.
where's a good place around S.A. to do it?
Here I've only ever done it at a friend's ranch near Floresville.
For skeet, San Antonio Gun Club is pretty easy and right in the middle of town. (near Olmos Park)
For Sporting Clays (much harder and more fun) and all things gun, National Shooting Complex is the absolute shiznit!

I know where SA gun club is.
I thought the NSC was not open to the public.
I think A Place to Shoot is another place.
Dietz is my usual hangout... between S.A. and New Braunfels.
