the key is, both parties are failing us. Obama is much more of the same. I really hoped when he took office that he would carry through on his promise to get us out of Iraq and repeal the Patriot act. it never happened, because the dude aint running .

if we cant vote in some folks who are not bought and paid for, our democracy is ed.

It's about voter discontent with in bents not Dems or Republicans per se...will Democratic districts vote more in bents out or will Republican districts? The ironic thing is that districts who choose to throw out their representatives will be less represented in the next Congress because their reps won't hold committee chairs....
    Bingo.

Americans in general are pretty stupid, ignorant ("Jay (Leno) Walking" is both funny and sad) apolitical, apathetic, overweight/obese, diseased, gullible, all ages, love their freedoms and "fun", but reject all responsibility.

"(CBS) Most Americans do not accept the theory of evolution. Instead, 51 percent of Americans say God created humans in their present form, and another three in 10 say that while humans evolved, God guided the process. Just 15 percent say humans evolved, and that God was not involved. "

    Blind squirrels find a nut:

" – 71 percent blame the Bush for the “balky economy,” while 27 percent blame Obama.

    – 53 percent favor Obama over Bush (33 percent).

    – 55 percent favor Obama over Sarah Palin (34 percent) in a hypothetical 2012 presidential campaign."

I never said it was going good. I believe our cause is right, that doesn't mean I'm sure of a win, or that it may be a mistake.

We are there now, and we need to strive to win. You quitters can want to pull out as much as you want. Let the boots on the ground decide their chances, and the Commander in Chief.

I'm actually surprised Obama is still allowing it to continue. It just might be a feather in his cap when it's over.

What would you define as a "win"? And based on that "win", what would you see as an acceptable withdrawal?

Sorry, I haven't really thought about that much. Iraq was a no-brainier, and I think in the end, our goals will be accomplished. For Afghanistan, I'll just be happy if we get all the tribal leaders to turn on the Taliban. Being a tribal region, I think it would be nice to instill some sort of a common national agreement between them, but I don't see that happening. Too much tribal history, and without actually occupying and controlling everything for years...

    Tough question.

It was the democrats who kept saying we should be there instead of Iraq. That question should be put to them.

    A poll that matters..

Poll: Americans think Obama started bailouts

A plurality of Americans think bank bailouts started under President Obama, according to a new Pew poll.

In Pew’s most recent “News IQ Quiz,” 47 percent of respondents thought Obama initiated the Troubled Asset Relief Program, compared to just 34 percent who correctly guessed it was former President George W. Bush.

Being identified with the unpopular bank bailouts could spell trouble for Democrats in 2010 and for Obama in 2012.

    More from Pew:

Notably, just 36% of Republicans, 35% of independents and 34% of Democrats know that the government bailout of banks and financial ins utions was signed into law by former President Bush. Democrats (46%) are just as likely as Republicans (50%) or independents (44%) to incorrectly say the legislation was enacted after Obama became president.
    The Hill

That's a real lack of message control by the Democrats and the real reason why the Dems lose elections...

You don't think that's an important question for everyone? And I'm pretty sure that the majority of Republicans are on board with the Afghanistan War as well. (Present company excluded.)

I don't see how we can be assured that those tribal leaders are actually against the Taliban, and not just faking, or that they'll turn as soon as we leave.

Perhaps my request for info was too laborious to be endured for very long, but you endured it and you got nothing, except your gripe that I made too many consecutive posts.
